The truth is simple: Americans do not want illegal aliens living here let alone claiming any benefits.

If that behavior doesn't fit the description of parasite I don't know what does. Just show up and the blood letting starts.

Our form of government is a representitive Republic not a democracy. We vote for our representitives. We would have to change our form of government to accomplish your wishes.

A Republic is representative government ruled by law (the Constitution). A democracy is direct government ruled by the majority. A Republic recognizes the inalienable rights of individuals while democracies are only concerned with group wants or needs (the public good).

But it's not to worry about such details? As long as we close our eyes and wish really, really hard? We can adapt all of our policies to suit the misconceptions, and everything will be fine again.

Most Americans do "wish" we had more of a voice on the issues by voting on them themselves rather than relying on our self-serving, flip-flopping congressmen to follow the wishes of the majority of which they don't. Kind of like the pro-illegal advocates that "wish" the Dream Act would pass or amnesty or CIR even though they "wish" really, really hard, they aren't getting it.

Our form of government is composed of laws. Those laws state that you are not supposed to come here without permission and you are most certainly not supposed to collect welfare. Why are those laws not enforced? Does this fact bother you?

Ultimately illegals represent nothing more than the forces of utter anarchy. They obey the laws that suit them and openly ignore the ones that do not. Even when such laws are designed to protect public health, keep our school system funded or ensure road safety. Worse, they do so brazenly with vile accusations of racism any time anyone dares challenge their alleged right to do so.

And if we close our eyes really hard we can pretend that encouraging millions of low skilled non-English speaking people with a third grade education will somehow rescue our economy. Or that giving such people access to welfare benefits paid for by the American taxpayer is intelligent public policy. Because misconceptions are fine as long as we can pander to the needs of greedy employers, half witted, overbreeding law breakers and the Hispanic lobby.

Yeah.

Yeah.
What evidence is there that anyone other than those qualified for the Rent subsidy program abused the program?

If you disagree with the law which allows non US citizens federal benefits, there is remedy through changing the law.

Again, you spout laws without any committal on your part as to why we should or should not change them. It's all you do all day long in here.

Surely you have an opinion on whether or not some of these laws (as the one implemented and being discussed in this topic) need changing based on your own personal views, don't you?

??? Because the qualifications were set so loosely? All you have to do is be a renter, fail to make your rent payments -- not much more is required, you can be here illegally obviously and still cash in on this program.

How could a program that says "come one, come all for another giant giveaway" be abused?

The real question to ask -- are Americans throughout the country all being given this rent money if they want it. Are illegals getting a lot more of this free money because of their unique eagerness to have many kids while accepting very low wages? Is there a certain advantage being given them -- come here and work for less than minimum wage, the government will pay your rent.

This keeps the wages way down, millions of people perfectly eager to accept far less than living wages, less than minimum wages, have many children and they easily are entitled to more government assistance than any American citizen.

Is this program equally available in Detroit, New York, and the rest of the USA, or is it geared toward cities with high immigrant populations only?
