It's the "MS-13" gang, short for "Mara Salvatrucha", and it originated in Los Angeles jails and prisons. Although it has expanded to a few places in Mexico, the original formation was from Salvadoreans to counter the influence of the Mexican Mafia while they were incarcerated in the United States.

To associate MS-13 with Mexico is not being correct...

And legally. The U.S. Consulate in Juarez (the only U.S. diplomatic office in Mexico that handles immigrant and 'K' visas) is the busiest embassy in the world, processing between 800 to 1000 petitions per weekday that is not a Mexican or American holiday. That was at the old facility, now they've moved to a larger complex.

Since you seem to forget all the time that this the "illegal" immigration forum, who cares about those who come from Mexico legally or anywhere else? Legal immigration is not a problem however illegal immigration is even though you don't seem to see it that way.

True, we accept more legal Mexican immigrants than any other group.

Yet the illegals still disregard our immigration laws.

IMO, since we have so many illegals here from Mexico their quotas for legal immigration should be cut way back. Afterall, how are we going to remain a diverse society if it is mostly Mexicans coming here either legally or illegally? How about everyone else? Don't they count?

If you do know the numbers of illegals in this country, why are you not working to return them to their country of origin? Key word here is illegal.
I demand nothing. If a poster makes a claim, it is usual to back that claim with some sort of data. I never said the statement was incorrect, I just wanted to know where the poster got the information.

If the poster said that illegals return a large amount of money home...then that is common knowledge; but if they claim that it is 2nd largest source of revenue...that is a specific claim; and should be a verifiable number.

The only reason I can think that one would make a unsupported claim is that their souce is less than credible.

All the poster has to do is cite their source and leave the information to the readers.

Sounds reasonable to me. Why should we discriminate against immigrants of other countries?

Be aware that about two-thirds of legal immigrants are not bound by quotas of any sort. "Immediate Relatives" to U.S. citizens are eligible to receive an immigrant visa upon completion of their petition being successful. Quota restrictions won't affect those numbers.

The United States is not being discriminatory to countries that have less people related to U.S. citizens...

Regardless, we should allow fewer Mexicans in here legally to compensate for the number that are here illegally in all fairness to other immigrants and in order to retain our culture. language and demographic makeup while still allowing in immigrants from all over in limited numbers.

By convention of protecting "our" culture and language, do we also also curtail legal immigration from other Hispanic countries, including Spaniards? Why are we concerned with fairness to "other immigrants" if we are limiting immigration for the Immediate Relatives of U.S. citizens? I thought you wanted U.S. citizens to have priority over foreigners.

Instead you are wanting to implement the "Diversity Lottery" immigration process...
