Get rid of entitlements and the absurd anchor baby birth right and many go home with no cost to the tax payer. Many come over here for welfare.

There is a difference between entitlements for all regardless of immigration status and benefits soley for illegal aliens. In Texas, Rick Perry ran on a platform allowing IA stundents in-state tuition rates...he signed that into law.

In Texas it is illegal to hire an illegal alien...except for private use. So if one needs a Nanny, Maid, Gardener, or Pool man, thats legal. Absurd?

If the program isnt mandatory...I doubt many of the 8,000 in the area would apply or be qualified for farm work.

But Im sure other unemployed will fill the gap.

PS porbationers are not going to make $15 an hour. Unskilled labor does not make as much as the experienced.

Are you sure you read that correctly? I read that there were 10,000 probationers available. Why is there a farm labor shortage anyway since there are unlimited H-2A visas available for legal migrant farm workers?

Actually, this was about the costs of educating illegal aliens in Calif. Therefore my question about why this is of no concern to some. Either one is a bleeding heart or an ethnocentric to not be outraged by this.

No, it isn't legal IMO and Rick Perry is an idiot for using a double standard.

Exuse me! A correction: The news said it is 6.1 billion for 2010, while government statistics from 2004 say
7 plus billion per year on education for Calif. illegals.

Unfortunately it's being sued by Mexico. Along with Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Peru.

As usual, the leftist legal legion claims the bill is racist and usurps federal immigration authority. Others claim the bill will harm tourism.
Illegal aliens are now being considered tourists? Really?

Quote:
The problem this bill addresses is that nearly 60 percent of Georgia’s 817,000 Hispanics are illegals, according to the Pew Hispanic Center.

According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform, educating, doctoring and jailing Georgia's illegals costs $2.4 billion.
