Spoiler
And by "mind-boggling" I mean "not at all surprising that someone holding your position would want to change the subject as quickly as possible".

Good to hear, I didn't say otherwise. You can be calm and still be "huffy and puffy".

OK, point me to it? Because the question of mine you quoted was in this thread.

Sure: "no". Or more specifically, I wouldn't subject them to anything less than everyone else.

Follow-up: why would you even ask that? as in, what point are you trying to make with that question? Don't be coy, just put your cards on the table.

Another follow-up: do you think making it easier for them to be "documented" would make such checks more or less effective?

Should jaywalkers have all their property confiscated?

If you think this is "apples and vegatables" please explain why the two are so different than they can't be compared.

Would you let millions of undocumented immigrants at the airport unchecked?
The would go through customs, just like I would.

You are comparing Americans & illegal people in the country.

So why is OK, to let millions of illegals cross our border unchecked?

So what? Laws apply to both, don't they? It's OK for Americans to break the precious laws?

I'd rather they came through legally. But sadly, there is no viable legal path to immigration, particularly not one as easy as, say, walking through customs in an airport, or getting on a boat to Ellis Island and writing your name in a book.

PS: I didn't specify the citizenship or documentation status of the jaywalkers. Do you just assume when you see a jaywalker "oh, man, that criminal must be an American citizen"?
