Then we have this...........ESR | June 13, 2011 | Concerns over illegal immigration becoming mainstream

The Border Patrol reports that 219,300 illegal immigrants were apprehended coming into Arizona last year. But as many as 350,000 to 400,000 were not caught, with many heading north through Sheriff Babeu's Pinal County. It is a bad time to be decreasing enforcement efforts. According to Sheriff Dever, illegal immigration is getting worse. "The bottom line is the people we're battling are much more sinister and much more aggressive, much more determined than they have ever been," Dever said on NPR. "When they used to run away, now they want to fight." The Yuma Sector is the only sector along the border that has "operational control" over its 126-mile section of the more than 3,000-mile border with Mexico.
Outrageously, the federal government is instructing the Border Patrol to arrest fewer illegal immigrants, as part of a "catch and release" scheme. This selective enforcement is apparently being done so the Obama administration can boast that apprehensions of illegal immigrants have gone down while Obama has been in office. Sheriff Dever was so furious he testified to Congress last month about the practice.

He is concerned the Obama administration is protecting illegal immigrants from prosecution, allowing many to get away with commit heinous crimes.

Your welcome!! Why do people choose to bury their heads in the sand and assume this administration is making a difference for Americans.

So, you are denying that the administration spent more money on enforcement and have deported more illegals in 2+ years than any previous administration?

Yeah, I wonder why some bury their heads too.

How many did Eisenhower deport? What % of the illegal population?

Proof that aggressive enforcement is effective.

They were victims obviously.
Today we have a significant advantage over 1954. The computer system. Every legal immigrant has been finger printed and cataloged into the system. Every citizen is also in the system. The only people who are not are illegals.
sucks to be them when their number is up.

I think going by what the majority of legal Americans think, or the majority of legal American voters say, is very good practice.

The people know!

You want to know what's really sad and scary at the same time? In the desert near the border there are signs saying you (tax paying American) shouldn't be there as it's not safe. All this less than 1 hour from downtown San Diego.
