I found an interesting video interviewing university students from Guadalajara about immigration. Many of them seemed to view immigration as a negative experience, with immigrants leaving behind their families, people, and roots in exchange for earning dollars. Others viewed them as immigrating "by necessity".

The students the series interviews do not seem to be representative of Mexican society as a whole, though.

Well I would imagine more that illegals aren't a good representation of Mexican society because all they want to do is leave their country any way they can.

Not all Mexicans see abandoning their country for the money of the USA as the most noble goal one can have.
