One of the qualifiers CIS used was for "free/low cost lunch" programs in public schools...

Don't all kids below certain family income levels get those?...

I wouldn't define the time that my family qualified solely for that as "receiving welfare"...

CIS study lol. Also title is wrong in addition to CIS's probably questionable methods. It's 71% of illegals with children.

It's actually an umbrage: CIS is saying my family of legal immigrants was on welfare...

And, that’s good? I would venture to say, a very high percentage of illegals in this country have children. Most likely, for many, having babies is their primary source of income.

Just curious, since you seem reasonable and all - would you be willing to answer the hypothetical I posed in the Michigan/Ohio thread?

Can you cite a source showing one illegal family whose main source of income comes from their children's welfare?

Other countries have minimum health and financial entry requirements for anything other than a short term stay. When will the U.S. wake up and stop draining our own resources? The American tax payers have already been taxed to limit.

Why would you need that? If the State and Feds pay for their meals, education and health care exactly how much would it take to survive? Answer, a heck of a lot less than otherwise. I pay out the wazoo for all of the above for my family.

My "legal" family.

You kidding? Illegals still have a few to several children to a family with many many unwed illegal mothers here in California and Los Angeles, of course welfare is often a primary source. That is big bucks and food stamps from welfare, plus illegals get other free benefits like medicaid medical care at many big and small county run and assisted centers...this for illegal adults as well as children. Illegals also get government assisted free and recuced cost housing, section 8, etc.
