A nice article with a happy ending.

Deported woman reunited with US citizen children - El Paso Times

Since then, Campos had been pushing for her children's release so they could reunite with her in Mexico.

Not all illegals want to simply abandon their US born children when deported, this mother made the effort to keep her kids.

Not all? How many do, exactly?

That's a good thing, I'm glad she could be reunited with her children. It's a good story and I'm glad she was allowed back in to actually go to the hearing. It only makes sense to me, those are her children, she deserves to be their mother, especially since she showed that she wants to be.

Glad to see they verified the mothers employment and residence...

This could just as easily been the mother getting the kids released to her and then selling them off into brothels or other type of slavery after she got them back into mexico........

Good lord, scaremonger much? I mean she COULD HAVE sacrificed them to some pagan god by throwing them into a volcano! But luckily this was ONE OF THE FEW GOOD ONES. Right? This idea that people born outside the US are just total savages and don't have the basic sense of loving their children, and that those who DO love their kids are miraculous exceptions to the rule, well, all I'm saying is that these sorts of crazy ideas have zero basis in reality and they seem to be really, really highly correlated with the people that constantly claim not to be bigoted. I'm sure it's just a total coincidence though.

The bureaucracy is stunning she wants her kids give them to her. What a waste of money.

The article says the children entered the country ahead of her. Being American citizens, they probably walked across at a port of entry. The mother, on the other hand, is not a citizen, or legal resident, so she tried to slip in under the radar, and got caught. When it was found that the children were not being cared for, Child Protective Services stepped in. The US can't just arbitrarily send a citizen back to another country, even a child. They did the right thing in assuring the mother had the means to care for them, and is a good parent. When it was estabished that they'd be safe, and well cared for, they were returned to their mother who will take them back to Mexico with her, which is as it should be. They have the right to return to this country when they're 18, if they wish.

As U.S. citizens, they have a right to return to the United States whenever they want to...

I think we all know that so why nit-pic? I believe 18 years old was mentioned because they would be adults then and no longer a need to be under their parent's care.

True. But with so many illegals insisting they will abandon their kids rather than take them home, it's probably good to question the ability to parent.

You almost never hear of an illegal who wants to keep USA born children if it means having to work to support them when they go back home.

The pro-illegal side is horrified by the thought that these kids might even prefer their other country and want to stay there. Some Mexicans actually love Mexico, and more than they lust for US dollars and food stamps.
