So much for Homeland Security....... well at least USA citizens are being groped and x-rayed at the airports, anyone can easily get over the border however.

Yes, this certainly justifies granting amnesty to untold millions of illegals. After all, amnesty will end illegal immigration, because once this group is legalized, our “secure” borders will prevent further illegal entry. The fence/wall is a deterrant, however. As stated in the article it gives the BP more of a chance to catch them as they drop over on our side of the border. They were able to do that in this incident. Along with removing all incentives to come here we would see fewer trying to climb the fence.

As evidenced by your own article, it sure wasn't much of a deterrent. Amazingly, ladder technology has made it to Mexico. Apparently even bicycle technology has made it to Mexico. If a $20 billion fence can be beaten with a $20 ladder, I'd rather scrap the fence and pocket the savings.

That's because the fence was not designed well. It's a very low and easily cut fence. No one would have such a fence around a zoo, or a playground, or a prison, or even their own back yard.
The fence you can see from I-10 in El Paso is a chain link fence set next to a sad little stream (Rio Bravo) that you can walk across without getting your ankles wet...

We were promised a double layered wall with a small road between the two walls for the BP to pass thru. In many places the fence looks just like you described above instead.
