Hey -- then we can be just like a third world nation!!! Yippie! Those third world workers agreeing to do the day work for $50 a day can sleep on the sidewalks, their children can sell chicklets and go without expensive health care.

The whole problem with your proposition is that yes, it costs the employers of these illegals very very little because the illegal doesn't have to worry about paying for his family's health care, nor for their schooling. The illegal can get food stamps and WIC to cover the cap between wages and living costs.

We simply cannot keep bringing in the huddled masses and asking fewer and fewer American taxpayers to keep funding their Medicaid, food stamps, housing assistance - and also for the displaced American worker.

Illegals are cheap for their employer because the employer isn't paying the whole costs of them being here.
Your complaint is really about poor people, not illegal immigrants. Illegals live somewhere, so they're paying the same property taxes (which is what funds public schooling) as everyone else. If they're not paying enough to cover their share, neither are legal/citizen poor people.

Wow, nice. You can always tell when someone finally realizes they're getting trounced, because they pull out one of these "STOP THE DISCUSSION" cards. Usually it's "this discussion is way off topic and the thread should be locked" complaints. But this "zomg you said redneck!!! I'm telling mom!!!" ploy is effectively the same.

Oh, and don't forget my favorite, the "I don't have any response to what you're saying so I'll just throw a tantrum and put you on ignore" maneuver.

Yes, you'll notice that people freely flip between normative and positive arguments whenever it suits them, and they'll just ignore the fact that in doing so they're not actually addressing the point they're pretending they are addressing.

For sure next time I am coming back as illegal (If I choose to come back) - better than being treated like a common criminal for being legal.
Better you than me. I dont wanna find out bout nasty things like coyotes, drug cartels, having NO rights if a cop wants to play hard, etc. I refer to obey the rules.

What if 20 million illegals just - left the U.S.
The housing market would collapse.

Entitlement programs fueled by illegals paying in to programs they can't collect from would go bust.

US economy would implode.

You must have been out the country in recent months..... the housing market did collapse.

And the entitlement programs are in serious trouble.

I guarantee you the illegals are not paying the same property taxes as I.

Especially not the 4 families living in one HUD apartment.

And no - I don't think that poor Americans pay the same but exactly why is it again that we need to import millions of poor non-Americans? I keep forgetting.

Yes, I know that. I'm saying it would get much, much, much worse.

He should work. I don't care what he decides to do for a living, nor should he care if I change careers.

Americans first.

I got to talking to a guy from India who does computer programming. Nice guy. He's obeying the laws, trying to do everything right, he spoke English very well, seemed very willing to adapt and assimilate into American society.

He was on his way to a job. He had a job but that one closed. He has a wife and child and you could tell it was breaking his heart that he wouldn't be seeing them, he was clearly quite educated, working in IT but he was going to a contract job across the country and would be sleeping on the floor in some apartment with some other guys from India he had never met. His wife and child were going to be living on their own in some apartment they were staying in, the wife works part time and they cannot give that job up. She's here legally also.

Why do we want millions of unemployed Americans - with educations and without educations. And now we add in all kinds of legal immigrants who also face unemployment and break up of families, desperation to find a secure job.

The ones who have it easiest are the illegals except they can take the jobs for less than legal wages. They can count on having free health care, they never are indebted for their hospital and ER visits. They can afford the largest number of children because they don't seem to mind in the least accessing the food stamps and WIC programs, using the Medicaid card for their many children.

No. With the number of Americans out of work and the number of houses going to foreclosure the last thing we need are illegals here to do drywall and construction. The jobs are gone, why aren't they?

Mexico has a much much lower unemployment rate than we have in the USA. Something like 5.2% -- imagaine! We haven't seen 5.2% in years now.
