His "girlfriend", as a "former postal carrier" has to be a U.S. citizen. What about the "another man"? Was his immigration status not newsworthy enough so it just covered the illegal alien, one-third of the total equation?

Investigators said the woman concocted an elaborate identity theft scheme that all started when she illegally entered the U.S. from Nigeria and assumed someone else's identity.

Need I say more? If you think illegals are not working for the federal government, think again. Also, let’s not forget the illegal alien police officer.
It is truly remarkable to me that anyone continues to compare the past to the present as justification for illegal entry into our country today. We have had to tighten our rules and implement quotas for legal immigration today based on the reasons pointed out numerous times in here. Yet the pro-illegals persist with their "well look how easy it was a hundred plus years ago". Is common sense just totally absent in their minds?
Yeah, it's different this time! This time they're poor and doing menial labor jobs when Americans want those jobs!
Boss Tweed: That's the building of our country right there, Mr. Cutting. Americans aborning.
Bill: I don't see no Americans. I see trespassers, Irish harps. Do a job for a nickel what a ****** does for a dime and a white man used to get a quarter for. What have they done? Name one thing they've contributed.
Boss Tweed: Votes.
Bill: Votes, you say? They vote how the archbishop tells them, and who tells the archbishop? Their king in the pointy hat what sits on his throne in Rome.
You don’t think people are being victimized by having their identities stolen? Here are a few of the hundreds of thousands of victims of illegal alien ID thieves.
The vast majority of bogus SSNs used by illegals belong to dead people. Yes, some use SSNs of living people in order to do things more sinister than just getting a job, but those crimes are essentially unrelated to their illegal status, and those crimes are committed by US citizens as well.
Im not sure why there is a fixation on the length of the wait as a justification for anything.

So, if you were playing by the rules and waiting in line in your country of origin, and millions of people who did not comply with our laws were placed ahead of you, you would not object? You would simply shrug your shoulders and say, “Oh well, that’s okay.” I suppose if you were waiting in a long grocery store line, and just when you started to place your items on the conveyer, a few people decided to jump in line ahead of you, you would just stand there and allow them to checkout ahead of you without uttering a single word. Right.
You guys love to rail against our “unjust” laws. Yet, you fail to realize it is patently unjust to give preferential treatment to people who chose to violate our laws, while requiring the law-abiding to wait. I guess our laws are only unjust when they require illegals to adhere to the say rules as others.
Your “Americans are not special” mantra is hilarious, not to mention, hypocritical. Obviously, you consider Mexicans to be a “special” group of people who, unlike other nationalities, should not be required to enter our country through proper channels. Why?
I'm not up on the current laws regarding how people can move here and become legal citizens. In the old days people came here from other countries, filled out the paperwork and became legal citizens...right? What is different now? Is the process so different? What are the reasons people won't go through with the legal process? In other words, why do people remain illegal? Or, maybe you have a link to the nuts and bolts of the issue? Please and thank you.
It takes years, that's what. I'll give you my first-hand ongoing account of immigrating and naturalizing.
I moved to the US when I was three. My dad's employer relocated us to the US, so we all got visas. That type of visa was what I used for the first... 12 years of being here. After 12 years I was finally able to apply for permanent residence (a green card). That alone took almost two years to get. For what it's worth, I lived in an affluent suburb, went to an "elite" (various people's word, not mine, I did not like it one bit) private school and had Canadian citizenship for crying out loud. Not exactly the kind of person who needs extra scrutiny, but anyway that's how long it took.
Now, three years after getting my green card, I still need to wait another two before I can apply for naturalization. I should get it easily; the worst thing I've done is get a speeding ticket and I know my US history. But it takes a VERY long time to immigrate to the US legally if your employer doesn't sponsor you. It takes even longer to get permanent residence. And then a few more years before you can become a US citizen. I await the day with great anticipation. I dream of having the ceremony on the 4th of July with the President presiding, as has happened a few times!

Please cite your source. And, if you believe using the SSN of a dead person does not create problems for his/her survivors, think again. It’s kind of hard to receive death benefits when, according to SSA, the person is still alive and working. Furthermore, imagine the problems such theft creates for a surviving spouse who shared bank accounts, credit card accounts, mortgage loans, etc with the deceased. Imagine that person having stellar credit, yet being denied a loan because 'Jose' decided to buy a car using the stolen SSN, and later defaulted on the loan. Again, SSN theft is NOT a victimless crime. Your attempts to defend such reprehensible behavior, speaks volumes.
For the umpteenth time, this is the ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION FORUM. We are not discussing U.S. citizens.

No, I'd advocate for it to be easier to come legally. Much like I'm doing right now.

Wanting a place where everyone is actually equal is not making anyone special or belittling Americans. Sorry that you hate the idea of equality and freedom for all. Unlike you I think those rights are entitled to everyone, not just people born on this side of some line.

Easier to come legally, or easier to come legally for unskilled/uneducated Mexicans? We have standards for a reason.
Legal immigrants are afforded the same treatment and protections as citizens. So, please explain how they are being treated unfairly. I am a very strong proponent of equality and freedom for all. However, miscreants cannot be expected to be treated the same as the law-abiding. That’s why we have police, a judicial system, prisons, etc. There are consequences for unlawful behavior, and one is the denial of certain freedoms and privileges. Sorry, but that IS just.
