Funny thing, that. I bet you'd get harrassed by the government because you're an American. Big difference between an illegal Mexican and a Mexican-American in this country. One gets preferential treatment and the other gets **** on. You or me pull the same stuff the illegals do, and our butts are hauled off to prison. What hypocrisy!

Wow, open calls for persecution of political opinion. Color me shocked. "Land of the free... as long as you agree with ME!"

As opposed to "hey everyone disagree with me and you're a racist, racist, racist! And the meantime you'd better Spanish and hand over your tax money, your educational funds and your job, you lazy, arrogant American!"

He's not being persecuted. He's being mocked because he's a hypocrite and an idiot who doesn't understand that he was elected to represent Americans not foreign nationals. He should move to Mexico or Guatemala already.

You're not racist, but the thing that keeps you up at night is... someone speaking Spanish. It's funny because you keep saying I'm making up this racist thing, but all I'm doing is reading what you write, and you keep writing more and more.

I didn't say he is being persecuted. I wasn't talking about what has actually happened to him. I'm talking about what people in this very thread are saying should happen to him.

Protest is an american tradition. Boston Tea party?
I dont like the guy and feel its all a show but I wont say he is doing anything but what many before him has done. Hes the latino version of Al Sharpton as far as I am concerned.
What politician isnt grand standing at some point or another.
Whats sad is how many buy into it.....

Advocating rewarding illegal aliens for violating our country's laws is a bit beyond having a "different idea". It's more like a Twilight Zone idea.

This isn't political opinion. Gutierrez is a member of the US Congress, and was elected to represent the people of the US. He is in fact representing citizens of a foreign country. If he want's to advocate for foreign nationals, he should resign his seat in Congress. If he wants to change immigration laws, let him go about it the right way, and introduce a bill in Congress. In the meantime, he needs to abide by the oath he swore to uphold the laws as they are written.
