No, this isn’t an article about deportation. Rather, the countless children who are left behind and/or abandoned by their parents who seek a “better life” in the USA.

Quote:
When men and women immigrate illegally to the United States, they often leave much more than a town and a country. They leave fathers and mothers, husbands and wives, sons and daughters.

The children sometimes grow up not knowing their parents — and sometimes never seeing them again. In some cases, they come to resent the parent who isn’t there at Christmas or on their birthday or to tuck them in at night.

Sounds like a good reason to make it easier for people to legally enter the US. Then the kids wouldn't be left behind since the crossing is so dangerous.

It brings into question the character of some illegals. We villify dead beat dads who skip out on child support even though often its the courts unjust or unrealistic demands upon the father that creates this problem. But when its an illegal we are supposed to cry for them and reward their criminal behavior?

Bad family values. Money isn't everything, some things like your children should mean more than money.

Wait, in the other thread everyone was crying about all the money illegals were sending to their families back home.

Amazing isn't it that many pro-illegals think the answer is to open our southern border so that entire Mexican families can come here unabated with no thought as to the negative impact that would have on our own citizens and their families.

All that glitters isn't gold. Even if they send money, money isn't enough, money doesn't raise the children, teach them what parents need to teach. The parents belong in the home with their kids.

An no, smuggling the kids with criminals to live off the taxpayers because the cost of living in this country is very very high, isn't the answer either.

That's not exactly the point. Depending on the article you guys are "discussing" the issue becomes either "omg they don't take care of their families, clearly these people are largely degenerates" or "America isn't benefiting when they are just sending the money home to their families omg!"

And it's not like everyone is taking care to note that this is a tiny minority of illegal immigrants. The whole discussion is an exercise in confirmation bias and broadstroke characterizations.
