The American Bar Association passed a resolution Tuesday urging the U.S. Congress to reject any changes to the Constitution that would eliminate automatic citizenship for anyone born in the United States. (http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/congress/american-bar-association-urges-congress-to-reject-birthright-law/2011/08/09/gIQAf0we4I_story.html - broken link)
They can urge all they want but this abuse of the 14th amendment needs to be change.

Quote from the article:
"Outgoing American Bar Association President Stephen Zack said in an interview that racism is underlying the call to change the constitution. Zack, the first ABA president of Hispanic origin, said it was an important statement by the American Bar Association that the U.S. Constitution must be respected".
Oh geez, note the ethnic origin of the outgoing president of this group and also note the race card being pulled?
I guess changing birthright citizenship would put a crimp in his vision for a Hispanic utopia in our country ( I guess 22 Hispanic dominated countries on the Western Hemisphere isn't enough).
I see, so to amend the Constitution is to disrespect it? I guess we have had several "disrespects" of the Constitution already then.
I mean, gee, how could anyone get the idea that racism is behind a lot of this when THE FIRST THING YOU DO is note that the guy is hispanic and make a point about it????

It appears as though racism may be underlying Stephen Zack's call to leave the birthright citizenship clause as is.
