Neither US Congress or the House has more than 2/3rd members who are in support of Constitutional Amendment and there is no way it will be passed in the liberal states in North East or California where it would need 3/4 majority of US States to get it ratified
When are you going to answer my question Texan er I mean" tigrs99"? How about some opinions on the issue rather than spouting the Constitution all day long for a change?

I believe in the US Constitution and protection in rights of every person whether he is legal or illegal. Just because some is not legal does not mean he don't have any rights.

you might as well change the wording on the statue of liberty too. people come here and always will legal or not. our courts have ruled time and again if you are on our soil you are under the protection of the USC

however if you were able to mess with the 14th amendment what would happen to babies born while their parents are in the process of becoming citizens? that can't happen over night, so what would the status be of these "limbo" babies born before their mother became a us citizen?

Also lots of babies are born where one parent is a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and other is not
Who would you exclude, like people here on Non Immigrant Visas or Immigrant Visa
It would be too complicated to change Thats why very few people in US Congress want to mess with the 14th Amendment

Nice dodge of my question. I'll ask you again how about expressing your own personal views on illegal immigration rather than spouting the Consitution all day long? I think most of us know what the Consitution says and that illegals have certain rights so no need to reiterate it over and over.

What do other countries do under the same circumstances? I am sure it can be worked out. Don't make a mountain out of a molehill.

The poem on the Statue of Liberty does not say come here illegally. It says come through the golden door, not the back door like a thief in the night. That poem does not negate our right to have immigration laws today. When that statue was erected we were a different country then with sparse population and plentiful resources and jobs. Not so today.

They won't come here illegally if we remove all incentives to come here starting with ending birthright citizenship and their ability to work or get benefits here.

Clearly there is an abuse here. They are not representing the purpose of the visa, as the article stated some come illegally to do the same thing.

Give them citizenship and register them as Democrats.

a mountain out of a mole hill? you are talking about changing an amendment. the mole hills are always the 'sticking" point so they need to be ironed out for sure. you can't just put on rose colored glasses and say "I'm sure it will work out"

I was making a rhetorical statement about the poem on the statue nothing more.

Looks like White House and Homeland Security has announced new policy today regarding illegal immigrants so that they can concentrate on people with serious criminal records and let others to be released from custody
