Calling him “worse than George W. Bush,” Latino activists threatening to abandon President Obama’s 2012 re-election bid delivered petitions to Democratic Party headquarters in Boston and five other cities yesterday, warning their crucial political support is fading fast. “He’s making moves that will ultimately alienate Latino voters and possibly lose him the election,” said Roberto Lovato, founder of Presente.org. (http://news.bostonherald.com/news/regional/view/2011_0817prez_slammed_on_immigration/srvc=home%26position=also - broken link)
I never understood why illegals feel entitled to citizenship when they clearly did not come legally here. It also seems like a lot of legal Hispanics support illegals by threatening not to vote for him as mentioned in the article. How will this affect the election?

There were only about 10 million Hispanics who voted in the last election. However, Hispanics refusing to vote for Obama this time around probably won't make much of a difference because most will probably not vote rather than voting for the Republican candidate instead. Bush had a good share of the Hispanic vote but since then the Republicans have refused to give amnesty to illegals and that appears to be their number one priority. I don't understand this tribal mindset but it is what it is.

Of course you understand it. It's the same mindset that leads people to want to "maintain a white majority culture."

Yes, it's not like they're going to vote for a Republican anyway. Illegals shouldn't be voting in our elections and not all "hispanics" are involved in illegal immigration.

Unless youre talkin bout the main culture in the USA. If Mexicans, etc,. dont like it, they can go back to Mexico, etc.

I suspect that some illegals will be voting just like the last election since in some states there are very few rules in place to prevent fraud.

Sure with some Hispanics illegal immigration isn't a priorty issue with them but with many if not most it is. I know someone posted a poll in here in regards to that.

We don't have a "white" culture in this country per se. We have an American culture which is a blend of cultures. Whites however are the majority in this country and our language is English. There is no denying that and there is nothing racist or supremist about Americans wanting to retain their culture and language anymore than it is racist or supremist for Mexicans to want to retain their Hispanic culture and the Spanish language in their country.

No country on earth wants to lose their identifying culture via illegal immigration. There is nothing racist or supremist about that at all. IMO it is those who would want to strip a country of their national identity via illegal immigration who are the racists and supremists.

Countries are not actors, though. Countries don't want anything. People who live in countries do. So it's not the country that wants to keep spanish-speaking squashed. It's certain individual people. And it sure isn't all of them.

I don't want to "strip a country of their national identity." But I'm also not interested in micromanaging it. As you mentioned, the culture in the US is a blend, so saying that what we have RIGHT NOW is particularly valuable or important is disingenuous at best.

BTW: adding the "via illegal immigration" weaselword qualifier on there isn't fooling anyone, especially after you admitted you don't care if the hispanics in the US are legal or not.

White majority culture please elaborate a little more.

The british descendants & their slaves set the borders and map out the country. The spanish did the same in central & south America.

You want Hispanic majority culture in the U.S?
