I'm American of Mexican descent and I don't believe this crap. Actually, no one in my family thinks this. Mexico is not in the condition its in due to land some people claim was stolen. If this land was 'given' back it would only mean there would be less U.S. states for would be illegals to enter. Also by 'gaining' back the land would this 'fix' Mexico's problems? I mean would there be gigantic fiestas all over Mexico because everything would be good and Mexico steps up to a world power for some land? Please. It would take hours for the corruption to spread its way.

-Cheers.

Agreed, not going to happen. Anyone that thinks otherwise is a fool who needs a shrink.

5 guys in their basement does not equal civil war. If this group does decide to wage a civil war, it will be short and not go in their favor.

As I said, there aren't enough of them to start anything much right now but it is the "mindset" of many of Mexican descent. It is a whole lot more than 5 guys in a basement that want to act on it also. What do you think will happen if illegal immigration from Mexico continues for another decade? According to the poll well over half of Mexicans believe their land was stolen by the gringo. Many Americans of Mexican descent feel the same way and are passing this attitude on to their kids also.

Anything can happen.

But will it succeed?

The thing that you guys are forgetting is that even a few hundred people could cause significant problems. Remember that is was 'just' 19 Muslim guys in 4 hijacked planes on 9/11/2001 that killed about 3,000 people and injured 6,000 more. If that's what 19 terrorists did ... imagine what they could do with 'just' 500 "Aztlan insurgents"?

If this ever comes to pass it will be bloody and it will not be a pushover. Bear in mind that we DO NOT have paramilitary internal security forces that could contain and/or suppress an revolt of this sort. The National Guard has proven to be largely useless when it comes to maintaining order as we saw with Hurricane Hugo (which led to anarchy in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands in 1989), LA Riots, Hurricane Andrew, and Hurricane Katrina ... all of which required the deployment of active duty military forces to finally bring things under control. In fact in Hurricanes Katrina, Andrew and Hugo the National Guard ran away from the armed mobs.

Which is why citizens and police forces would be the ones to handle it. IIRC the active duty (non-NG) units can't be activated on American soil?

They have, it requires presidential approval hence it would be unlikely to happen in this situation. The police are even less well armed than the National Guard ... which leaves things up to We the People of these United States - the most powerful army on Earth.

They are not supposed to because of Posse Comitatus but it does not apply if an area is under martial law (or state of emergency in modern speak)

LMAO, so they take back "their land", then what?

It will turn into more of what they deserted Mexico for in the first place and another Mexican economic disaster...
