Another reason why employers may like illegals is because they can be ratted on and deported if they nark on the employers.

Also illegals have to get and keep a job, while teenagers of middle and upper class families usually don't have to get a job. So it would be easier for a teenager from a mid/upper class family to quit a low wage job.

Also with illegals, if employers pay them in cash, the employers can try to cheat the social security system by underreporting employees.

if an illegal was using a fake SSN and trying to one up the employer, the social payments would still be made. In fact the illegal wouldn't get any benefits from social security.

If, say, those low skilled Americans want to challenge that line of thought, the best they can do is try to demonstrate how the country as a whole/overall would be worse off.

"Do you believe the US government believes the foreigners are superior to American citizens?"
I would imagine that the federal and state governments believe that, in two ways:
* Educated foreigners - more educated than some native born Americans, and could bring in innovation that wasn't homegrown. After all Einstein came from abroad and his work helped the US make the nuclear bomb
* Uneducated foreigners - work for less money than native-born Americans (Why illegals stick around)

In terms of legal immigration, if one doesn't already have family legally in the USA, it is FAR easier for wealthy and/or well educated people to get visas and green cards than uneducated and poor people.
Our government knows damned well that these illegals aren't an overall benefit to our society as a whole. The only ones benefiting are the greedy employers and the politicans that are in their back pockets to look the other way. Anyone who thinks otherwise might want to get a grip on reality.

I think the way to win over the non-working classes is to demonstrate to them that "only a very few select people benefit, while most of the United States does not"
