They are immigrants. some illegal and some not. Alabama has made it clear the Hispanic are exiting...not the illegals.
As All American NYC stated, that’s like including shoplifters in the same category as shoppers. Yes, both groups shop for merchandise, but “shoppers” pay for their items, while “shoplifters” are thieves, criminals, lawbreakers. BIG difference. Likewise, there’s a HUGE difference between legal immigrants and illegal aliens. Only the desperate, agenda-driven and disingenuous refuse to make the distinction.
The law targets illegal aliens. If “Hispanics” are leaving Alabama, it’s a clear indication that most illegal aliens are Hispanic. Otherwise, they would not be the ONLY group to leave. Correct me if I’m wrong, but to my knowledge, the law does not include the word Hispanic. If a state enacts a law to target pedophiles, who other than pedophiles would feel threatened?

How in the world would Alabama know which Hispanics are leaving their state? I would imagine it would be mostly the illegal kind though since the legal kind have nothing to fear. I can't fathom why any legal Hispanic would flee unless they have illegal family members living with them or they are trying to make a political statement for their illegal amigos.

The analog is badly busted. Perhaps if a felon bought a gun at a swap meet you would have an appropriate analog.
And there are numerous discussion in the news that both legal and illegal Hispanics are leaving Alabama. Not an unlikely outcome. It is the perception of the Hispanic that matters. Not the details of the law.

What comparison is bad?
Legal hispanics have nothing fear except illegals. If they are legal hispanics leaving its most likely due to their family member or friend they know is illegal.

Are there legal Hispanic politicians leaving?
If legal Hispanics are "perceiving" that they are being targeted also I'd sure like to know based on what. All it is an excuse on their part to protect their illegal amigos and as I said make a political statement.

Yea, well we all know how the news discusses these issues. Considering they can't make a distinction between legal immigrants and illegal aliens they can hardly quantify the issue, can they? It almost makes me LOL how they shot themselves in the foot by forcing the issue of not calling illegals by their correct status and now they have no way of proving their point.
And actually when you are dealing with laws it is very much the details that matter and NOT the perception. I'm not sure on the Hispanic reference, are they the only ones in the country illegally?
