While the American unemployed are on Wall St crying about not getting a job with their Art Degree... a farm in Colorado has to bring in Mexicans because all the Americans QUIT.

This is reality, illegals and legal Mexicans do jobs that are too hard for most Americans:

Quote:
Six hours was enough, between the 6 a.m. start time and noon lunch break, for the first wave of local workers to quit. Some simply never came back and gave no reason. Twenty-five of them said specifically, according to farm records, that the work was too hard. On the Harold farm, pickers walk the rows alongside a huge harvest vehicle called a mule train, plucking ears of corn and handing them up to workers on the mule who box them and lift the crates, each weighing 45 to 50 pounds.
Quote:
“It is not an easy job,” said Kerry Mattics, 49, another H-2A farmer here in Olathe, who brought in only a third of his usual Mexican crew of 12 workers for his 50-acre fruit and vegetable farm, then struggled to make it through the season. “It’s outside, so if it’s wet, you’re wet, and if it’s hot you’re hot,” he said.
Still, Mr. Mattics said, he can’t help feeling that people have gotten soft.

Yeah... Sure. Keep telling yourself that!

Americans also don't work in construction because it is too hard.

Americans also don't join the Military because it is too hard...who would want to be deployed for a year, every other year and be away from their families.

Americans also have never had any of the jobs currently held by illegals. Janitoral, house cleaning, restaurant, farrm, labor type of jobs never existed until the illegals started coming in. Let's thank all illegals for coming to America and creating new jobs and job titles that never existed before!

FYI the article you posted is talking about legal farm workers who come to the US on work visas... No illegals. Of course any foreigner who makes a buck a day back home would jump at the chance to come here and make 10 an hour. If they were offered the same wage they get back home they would not come here.

Pro illegals act like they come up here just because they are such hard workers. No it isnt't. It is because they can make more money. And in a lot of cases drop 5 children on this side of the border and live off the taxpayers.

Try offering them the same wage they get paid back home with no birthright citizenship, no free education for their offspring... NOTHING. And see how eager they will be to come here.

I suppose that’s why the majority of farm workers are AMERICANS or legal residents. Apparently, farm work is too hard for 97% of illegal aliens, given that only 3% are picking crops. I wonder why such a small percentage of illegals are choosing that line of work? Hmmm. . . .

Wow, what a title. I thought “er jerbs” was beneath you. Obviously, I was wrong.

Based on your logic, we would have starved centuries ago because we didn't have illegal Mexicans to pick our crops right?

Oh, I thought you knew. Prior to the invasion, we had no houses to live in, no food to eat, no one to mow our lawns, or clean our toilets, or make our beds. Where on earth would we be without these hardworking people?

If the work is that hard farmers should use machinery to do it. The would be better for all of us. Far better than importing foreign nationals who are too lazy to learn English and impose huge burdens on local communities because they don't have job skills and have children they cannot afford.

What utter nonsense! There aren't any jobs that Americans won't do for a fair wage as they have always done them. As for crop picking, I swear if I have to repeat this one more time that there are unlimited H-2A visas for LEGAL immigrant crop pickers I am going to puke! Only 3% of illegals are picking crops anyway.

By the way, keep your day job as you are no stand up comedian with your "they took er jobs" attempt at humor.

So you are saying that Mexicans are the only national group that will do manual labor? Wow, that's a lot of lazy a**es all over the world, isn't it? How do all the countries across the planet manage without Mexicans?

Last year my husband worked in an orchard locally to learn more about horticulture for his own orchard. He worked in 100+ degree heat on a daily basis. He was the *only* Ango person there. All the others were Mexican and there were a couple from Central America (all of them with legal documentation to work). He asked the "boss" why there weren't other Anglos there and the boss said that he cannot get anyone to work except Latinos.

The going rate was $8 per hour, but that is consistent with any job in this area for an unskilled worker.
