What I think is funny is that this was such a big deal while the moat with alligators comment rom the POTUS was nothing... Gotta love double standards.

Why is there all this talk about the electrified fence that will kill you but no talk about the moat with alligators. Are people or PETA not concerned about the alligators? How much money will it cost to build a moat filled with alligators? What will happen if the alligators don't get enough to eat? These are all serious questions that the MSM and democrats must ask Cain.

High voltage will not kill you, it takes amperage to kill. Electric fences don't have much amperage...................

Cain was not the one who mentioned the Moat with Alligators...It was Obama... I think Cain did say something along those lines but it was after Obama's speech.

For "a joke", it did get some seemingly serious responses in two City-Data forum areas (this being one). Most of the supporting comments still talked about death to the offender(s) that would attempt to cross the fence. I'm at a loss to explain that level of response to many that couldn't even be charged (no pun intended) with a felony-level crime on that initial entry.

To be a viable deterrent, it has to have that fatal aspect?...

And that is less voltage than electrical incinerating someone...

So what?

Cain suggested fences that kill. In two speeches in Tennessee. To enthusiastic applause. If you want to argue about amperage, voltage, etc, take it up with Cain.

If there is a fence with a sign that says, do not cross, you might get killed...what are you going to do? If you try to cross it and you get injured or die, whose fault is it?

YOURS!

So Cain says that his illegal Mexican alien-killing electric fence idea was a joke, and right-wingers are disappointed because he wasn't serious about the whole thing and left-wingers are angry because he was making a joke about killing people. Good one---about par for the course for primary season.

Illegal alien "Mexican" killing? Excuse me, but it isn't only Mexicans coming here illegally through our southern border. Don't smear all conservatives aka right wingers as being in favor of an electrified fence that would kill. Left wingers will just use Cain's remarks to smear him also. It was a bad joke and he shouldn't have said what he did. End of story.

You have a good point. If people disregard warning signs anywhere where danger is at hand then they only have themselves to blame for what happens to them.
