With the stroke of a pen, CA illegal employers are given a wink, a nod, and a big thumbs-up.
Quote:
While several U.S. states have passed laws requiring use of the electronic employment eligibility verification system known as E-Verify, California Governor Jerry Brown recently signed the Employment Acceleration Act of 2011 (A.B. 1236) that opposes E-Verify mandates and prohibits – except as required by federal law or as a condition of receiving federal funds – cities, counties, and special districts in California from requiring employers to use an electronic employment eligibility verification system such as E-Verify.
What more could illegals want? In Cali, they can now drive without a license, receive in-state tuition and financial aid for college, as well as work without the hassle of having a valid SSN.

They gave them everything citizens have & more SUCH AS driving without a license.

Is it any wonder why our state has more illegals than any other?
Someone should be standing out on street corners in DFW handing out fliers illuminating all of the pro-illegal programs in CA so our illegals will LEAVE and go THERE. Moonbeam wants to coddle them? Then he should have to coddle ALL of them. And then he'll face a recall election.
Why isn't Obama suing the state for interfering in immigration law?
Because these actually are in line with Obama's agenda. DUH
Anyway, employers still get a free pass if they want. They can simply reject due to an inability to run a credit report. Unfortunately, employers are still allowed to use credit - availability or scoring - to screen applicants. And "insufficient credit" is a valid denial reason.
That's of course if the employer cares. I'm fortunate enough to work for a company that does not believe in hiring anyone who is not legal. Such is the value of companies where the HQ is international, rather than the other way around (HQ in US but they outsource to other countries). International leadership is strict, but they're fair most of the time.
