It looks like everybody likes to use this term now whenever speaking about illegal immigration/immigration, and there is nothing wrong with it...just know what it means and don't be so ignorant. I am a LEGAL immigrant, who married a U.S Citizen, (notice i was already LEGAL BEFORE marrying, yes you read right, not ALL immigrants are illegal) then we had a son who is half Colombian and half American. Also if one of the parents of the "Anchor Baby" is a Citizen, they can't be deported. Just sharing some info before some people open their giant racist hole.

I disagree that there is nothing wrong with the term "anchor baby".

It's a lie, and everyone who uses it knows it. There is nothing in the law that entitles the noncitizen parents of a citizen born in the United States to remain here or become citizens. Thus, they are not anchored to the United States in any way.

Apparently our small and medium-sized watercraft are at risk from something. I can't see babies making an effective anchor for say a navy frigate or anything larger than a tug. Maybe that's why Michele Bachmann also brought up magnets at the last debate, though I think just bronzing the babies would be effective enough if it's water displacement you're concerned with.

There is a memo from ICE that I have already posted here that says that people who are in the country illegally and have US born children may not be removed from the country.

Funy eh?

And just an FYI: your child is not an anchor baby. Because you and your spouse are not here in violation of our Federal Laws.. Get it?

And it looks like you, my (Brasileño) father, and millions of people wasted their time by waiting in line to come here because illegals are getting a free ride.

That is what you should be mad about.

Must be dual citizenship, dual allegiance. USA citizen for the easy money and that's all.

Anchor baby is a very suitable term but not for a baby of a US citizen. These people come here illegally to give birth and use the baby as their right to stay forever, collect every kind of welfare handout the baby can get and bring in more family members using that baby as their anchor to hold them here.
