Well, they're dead. As long as they aren't harboring any live illegals, it doesn't seem to matter.

Why should someone that dies while committing a criminal act be honored?

Do we honor a burglar that falls and breaks his neck while climbing into someone's house?

Do we honor an armed robber that is killed by an armed store clerk?

Do we honor a rapist that dies of an STD after assaulting an AIDs patient?

Do we honor the drunk driver that kills himself and others in a car wreck?

Sorry, there is no honor in being a criminal.

There is no honor on breaking the law. They are sending a wrong message to kids. Role models are honored, not criminals.

Probably not. But in today's crazy sue happy liberal world, odds are probably pretty good that the burglar (or his family) could sue the homeowner for some form of negligence and win the case.

This is an extension of the 'everyone's a winner, everyone gets a trophy' mentality.

People honor George Washington and other illegal immigrants to North America, so why not honor the modern day illegals ?

So yes. Honor them.

Well why not also honor criminals killed while committing their crimes?
Rapist shot while attempting to rape yet another woman.
He was a brave man that few understood. He just wanted a better piece of azz than he had at home. Gunned down while searching for happiness.
Drug dealer killed while selling drugs. He used the money to buy the things he always wanted. Traded drugs for sex with crack addicts this made him feel a bond with his customers. Killed by police in a shoot out. so sad.

As usual, a liberal has his facts all wrong. First George Washington was not an immigrant at all, he was born in the colonies. Second there was no United States in 1732 when he was born. Third there were no immigration laws for anyone to break at that time so even if he had come to this continent he wouldn't have been breaking any laws.

Illegal immigrants should NOT be honored for breaking the law. There is nothing noble or honorable about illegally crossing the border unprepared to deal with the consequences.
