"This isn’t your father’s America. As promised, President Obama is “fundamentally transforming” the nation with a plan to flood the United States with individuals whose hearts belong to other lands. The message to illegal immigrants is if you can get in and keep out of further trouble, you’re welcome to stay. The Land of the Free has become the land of the home-free."

He's flooding the USA with dirt cheap labor. The corporations and elites want to get rich quick by having cheap labor and Obama is getting it for them.

It's not that the politicians just have some fondness for some particular group of foreigners and prefer them over the American people. It's that the easiest way to bring wages to rock bottom and have Americans dependent on their politicians for even their food, is to open up those borders and invite all the third world in.

Doesn't the Obama administration have stronger border controls than Bush had?

The argument is a common one - that having a flood of immigration will erode the national identity since people supposedly will have loyalty to other lands - it's an argument Teddy Roosevelt made.

But the trend of newer recent immigrants trying to hold on to more of their culture has been going on for awhile (Recent Hispanic immigrants being bilingual, but with English as the language of education, Asian-American kids sent to "Chinese school"/"Korean school"/etc so they can learn how to write their parents' languages) but AFAIK the kids still see themselves as American.

Yes illegals are occupying America.

They are not assimilating either. Soon they will be pushing for autonomy. History has a way of repeating itself with non assimilating immigrants.

Sooner or later there will be conflict.

For them to "occupy" America, IMO they'd have to get significant political clout. The people who want illegals to be there (American companies and businesses) have the clout, but aside from some Latino lobbying organizations, illegals themselves don't have much clout. Illegals themselves can't vote.

"They are not assimilating either" - Uneducated adults aren't the ones who largely assimilate. Its the children, who are raised in American schools and learn English at school.

I come from a big city, and I knew sons and daughters of immigrants from Latin America, Asia, and Africa. They mixed with native born Americans.

Also, in many cities the established Chicano populations take in recent Hispanic immigrants under their wing and tell them how to do things in America. The longtime Chicanos often call the shots.

So you are saying illegals are not occupying this country?

Well, you'd have to define occupying.
My definition for "occupying" is "illegals are taking political control and cultural control from Native Americans"
And I say that they don't have political control - they are there because native born Americans who are interested in making money (businesspeople) want them there, so "businesspeople" are the occupiers, while illegals themselves are pawns

Based on this definition can you explain if you think illegals are occupying the U.S?

When the DOJ is filing suit against states that want the laws enforced, I'd say they have more political clout than US citizens.

DOJ files suits wherever civil rights are violated nothing to do with one's citizenship status
