DREAM Act could cost more than previously estimated, according to report - The Daily Californian

"The state Legislative Analyst’s Office report released Wednesday states that resident students seeking state financial aid could receive less because of the funding that will be allotted to students newly eligible under the act. The report projects the act’s cost to total $65 million annually once fully implemented, higher than the estimated annual cost of $40 million calculated by the state Senate Appropriations Committee earlier this year."

You mean they lied again?

What else is new?

Each bleeding heart would support one illegal alien student for 4 years, including but not limited to tuition, fees, room, board etc.

It is time for them to put their money where their mouth is.

Of course they mean to take the financial aid for themselves and damn the citizens, the illegals obviously don't care if US citizens can't attend college ever.

In fact, when your parents lack valid social security numbers and documents, you can claim your wages anything you want them to be. An illegal using a stolen social security number could easily earn $40,000 a year but that isn't his number so he can claim to have made $5000 a year and his kids will get the financial aid.

Yeppers, with BO in power it would have to cost more than they say. He'd of course put the union thugs in control of it, and their "M.O." is to run costs up so that they cost more than any previouc projections, right? Uh huh...

So the analysis they initially did for the California budget was for one year only?? Did they think that number would be ongoing?

What a bunch of idiots. I wonder if the Act would have been pushed through based on this new analysis.

So: Illegals get welfare, food stamps, free medical, and now college and once again, Americans can just go to hell. The "American Dream" certainly doesn't apply to Americans. Americans get to live with the "American Nightmare".

I am not surprised. Likewise, it will cost far more than estimated to legalize untold millions of illegal aliens. After all, their estimates are based on 10.8-12 million illegals, when the actual total is probably closer to 30 or 40 million. But, this is only one of many games being played by pro-illegals to try to marginalize the burden of these invaders.

If illegals want a college education, they should be required to pay the higher foreign student rates. But, only if there are available slots after citizens and legal foreign students have registered. There is absolutely no logical reason to reward Dreamies with tax-funded reduced tuition rates. Yet, some wonder why they refuse to leave.

Do you think Mexico offers illegal aliens subsidized tuition rates? For that matter, does ANY country other than the U.S. allow itself to be so pathetically used and abused by foreigners who violate their laws and their sovereignty? I am so sick of this BS.

Who votes for the Jerry Brown's of this country? While I realize that the wealthiest Californians benefit from the cheap housekeeper, nanny, and gardener services that illegal aliens provide, from a financial standpoint, the state is being raped and taxed to death.
