Yes and the stories of violence are way too over-dramatic. 99.9% of the violence involves those who are connected in some way with the violent cartels.

As bad as Juarez violence is, I know a number of people who live there and have normal enough lives, they say they are careful but not afraid, they aren't afraid because they never got themselves involved with a cartel.

There are some areas where the cartels are fighting but much of Mexico is very safe, cities like Puebla have very low homicide rates.

You are right, there's plenty of safe areas in Mexico to move to instead of sneaking into the USA.

And the violence in Juarez is way down from what it was.

The open border actually makes it just as likely that the cartel is living over here, there's actually nothing at all that stops the cartel members from immigrating to the USA along with all the others. This guy may or may not have US citizenship but he was a leader of a Mexican cartel.

El Paso man may be leader in Juárez drug cartel - El Paso Times

Juárez officials said Bautista is from El Paso but the U.S. Consulate in Juárez "has no indication at this moment that the subject is a U.S. citizen,"

Violence is down in Juarez? Do you have a link handy? If your info is right, good news all the way around.

But the region’s security outlook is not all gloom and doom. Ciudad Juárez, still Mexico’s most violent city, saw its homicides drop by almost half since 2010, to just under 1,700 this year.

What are you talking about?

All I said was that your message of starving people to death was a great holiday greeting. Jeesh.
