Thats why our system fails but in Canada the employers must validate the permits OR THEY GO TO JAIL.....problem solved. Laws evidently mean something there.

If we want to get illegals out of the work place we need to drop the hammer on employers who knowingly hire illegals. That hammer should also drop on the HR managers as well as any manager involved with the hiring process.

Agreed. As exhibited by the firing of 200 illegal alien steel workers, E-verify is a marvelous tool.

LOL, it doesn't take much to trick E-Verify. If the name, SSN and DOB match the government records, the person will pass. You can buy that kind of information on the street for less than $100 if you know where to look.

Employers are not experts in the art of detecting false documents. If a new hire presents passable documents, they are in. In Arizona most companies take the approach of "don't ask, don't tell". When the employment laws rely on the words "intentionally" or "knowingly", the employer has a very convenient loophole and an incentive not to probe too deeply.

I am retired so I have no need to look for a job. However, my concern is for the 23 million Americans out of work that can't get hired because the greedy employers prefer the cheap, illegal labor or they require a native English speaking American to be able to speak Spanish. There are scarce jobs out there right now anyway with our economy in the dumps or didn't you know that? There is plenty of blame to go around and I mentioned them in my above remarks. Sorry, that you would rather blame the victims (American citizens) rather than the crooks and immigration law breakers.

Most of these illegal immigrants are working with fake or stolen ID's or getting paid under the table and paying no income taxes. Is that ok? Many or most of their incomes are so low with many dependents that at the end of the year they get refunds on their taxes or even more than they pay in. All the while the greedy employers are fattening their wallets and passing their social costs on to us.

We already know who the bad guys are. The employers, our government and the illegal immigrants. Will you join us loyal Americans to fight this corruption by all three or will you just demonize regular Americans instead?

Why would a nativist use all of those words to spew the same old anti immigrant canards?
The short version: They be taking yer jobs.

Brevity is your friend, in either English or Spanish.

Really? Statisically e-verify is around 98% effective. I am sure there are many employers (usually the crooks in their personnel dept.) that know when someone is illegal. However, without e-verify it is hard to detect which documents are real and which ones are fake. I would like to see a link that Arizona employers are doing what you are claiming if is rampant. Why would you single out Arizona? The loophole isn't a convenience. One does have to be proven guilty of a crime in order to prosecute them. That is our American justice system and thank God for that!
