The incompetence and idiocy of this country never ceases to amaze me.

Texas teen deported to Colombia could return soon - Houston Chronicle (http://www.chron.com/news/article/Texas-teen-deported-to-Colombia-could-return-soon-2444112.php - broken link)

I understand that she gave a false name, etc......but it's still unconscionable that she was deported.

Oh well give the right name next time.

Also what's the point? Should we stop deportations because one person out of the millions deported was deported incorrectly, allegedly?

The point is we should get it right. This country should never mistakenly deport an American citizen. Period. Nothing else needs to be said.

Angry Well...

IMO, I firmly believe anyone here on "Conditions" MUST obey any and every US law, just like ppl born here!!

We cant just go around throwing out false information and expect no consequence.

The US makes it FAR to easy for Illegals to get in this country and start claiming "citizen rights"

If you ask me, I think the US needs to tighten its ropes and start cracking down SERIOUSLY, enough with all the loopholes to "get away" with crimes!!

Americans CANT just walk on into another country Un-invited and Un-announced and start saying "I HAVE RIGHTS"..oh heck no we cant....

So why are these ppl doing it in this country???

It sounds like she wanted a free trip to Colombia, and to get as far from her family as possible. She may have been just age 15, but this girl had been around the block many times, was already into sex and drugs, selling herself.

When the border patrol questions you and you choose to lie about your citizenship -- too bad but you made the choice. It sounds like she was having a blast in Colombia, partying her life away far from her family.

Man! Are 15 years getting stupider or what? We have the kid who brandished a real looking toy gun at the police and now this girl telling ICE agents she's here illegally.

I'm glad I was a bit brighter as a 15 year old.

She's a 15-year-old. They do idiotic things.

I would expect more from the adults who made the decision to send her to Colombia, though.
