Most if not all ARE NOT dirt poor, but they do have lower incomes compared to say some native Jerseyans who have moved away because of the high cost of living.
But anyways I am just curious as to how these immigrants can just take over certain neighborhoods. Real Estate is not cheap.
These immigrants can just take over certain neighborhood by working hard....working more than 40 hours a week. They do whatever it takes to get there. No, real estate is not cheap.....and it might take them years to save up- but they work for it. You'll be amazed to see what they will do to make some money.

But it just seems like it just happened all of a sudden, and without any transition. Actually I am still relatively young so I really cant say, but when did these neighborhoods show signs of impending change.
I really can not understand how these immigration posts are staying here instead of being moved to the immigration board.

There is a chinese neighborhood in CA called monterey park. It became chinese, when a wealthy chinese business man, and I believe a few partners started by up the land, and only selling and leasing to chinese from the Chinatown in LA. Is that the same thing here in Jersey?

It's not just certain neighborhoods. The entire state has over a million illegal aliens. What attracts them to New Jersey? The hand outs. Free medical care in our hospitals, welfare, food stamps, free schooling, subsidized housing, and the list goes on and on. They drive around with phony drivers licenses and no insurance, using stolen social security numbers. End result is the state goes bankrupt and the law abiding legal citizens flee the state because the quality of life is destroyed. It originally started in the inner cities but has quickly spread to the surrounding communities. Try looking at a map. It's like a cancer.

I believe it goes back to what another poster stated. They live 3-4 families inside of a single family or two family house which makes up for the lack of single income. I used to live in a neighborhood where a hispanic guy would buy a house and basically tear down the walls, partition them into many "single rooms" to rent to laborers. So instead of a family of four you had a house of 10-12 persons. And this would scare the neighbors who would sell and the cycle began.
