I feel for any indigenous peoples from any continent. America is a much different place than when the Natives had a hold of it. America became a melting pot with an amorphous culture. It's not like France or Nigeria, 2 countries that were not founded on immigration by foreigners of different cultural/phenotypical backgrounds.

Americas demographics is always going to change because that's what America is. The culture will always evolve and that's what makes it so powerful. Just like the European renaissance where Europeans borrowed the best from many outside cultures to plant and harvest.

The difference is that Europe was supposed to change in the arts and sciences but not by replacing it's people or losing it's most distinctive cultural features.

America on the other hand has always been a racially and culturally freeform country with a very basic(but awesome) moralistic/political canvas to expand on.

So when the demographics change one can not complain.
What does that have to do with TODAY'S over population problems?

Excellent question. Limiting immigration to reasonable numbers, deterring illegal immigration while also advocating for immigrants to be from various ethnic/national groups doesn't change the melting pot theory. The basic ingredients remain the same while adding different flavorings to it but does not overpower it. That's not the same as millions coming from one group who will change the pot completely so it isn't even recognizable anymore. And you're right the discussion was about uncontrolled population growth not the melting pot but I guess the advocates for illegal aliens can't grasp the difference. "Evolving" via illegal immigration is not natural nor is it desirable or acceptable.

I don't care how many kids someone wants to have -- IF and ONLY IF they can feed their children and obey the laws at the same time.

Mexico's extremely high birth rate isn't with it's educated and responsible classes, it's growing middle class isn't comprised of grade school drop outs who started having children at 13 or 14.

The answer to a high grade school drop out rate and having many children you cannot afford is NOT to come to the USA where all your problems will be solved.

If someone in Mexico finishes school, obtains some job skills and delays the start of a family until that and marriage, and limits family size to what he or she can afford, this person stands a very good chance of joining Mexico's growing middle class.

Those who fail to do any of that are the ones pouring over the borders because in the USA the government (taxpayers of the USA) will have to provide the free medical care, the food stamps, school meals, and housing assistance that the unskilled and illiterate require.

They are NOT leaving a country with a very low cost of living to come to a country with a very high cost of living because they can afford it here without a lot of government assistance. You won't find many illegals who paid even one hospital bill much less a $200 doctor's office visit.

Can we see some sources on your statement about "extremely high birthrates for Mexico", teen pregnancy, etc.?...

For others, because I know how to dismiss your BS for what it is...

Americans are only having babies at replacement rates. So just about all population growth in this country is due to illegal immigration.

To be fair. Legal immigration plays a role also.

True but the Hispanic population growth is due mostly from illegal immigration and giving birth on our soil. The reason I mention Hispanics in particular is that they are the fastest growing ethnic group in this country by far and that is directly affecting our explosive population growth.

Then quit trotting out things that happened before anybody alive today was born. It's in the past and one big way to stop out of control pop growth is to cut down immigration by taking away the goodies.
