The U.S. Border Patrol is moving to halt a revolving-door policy of sending migrants back to Mexico without any punishment.
The agency this month is overhauling its approach on migrants caught illegally crossing the 1,954-mile border that the United States shares with Mexico. Years of enormous growth at the federal agency in terms of staff and technology have helped drive down apprehensions of migrants to 40-year lows.
The Border Patrol now feels it has enough of a handle to begin imposing more serious consequences on almost everyone it catches from Texas to San Diego. The "Consequence Delivery System" divides border crossers into seven categories, ranging from first-time offenders to people with criminal records.

The tide is turning against illegal aliens it seems.
Well I like to look at it as more of a tide turning to law enforsement that has long been slackin. I want full accountability . Our immigration laws were made for good reasons and the tide needs to turn back to our countries best interest.
Not quite true. There are BP checkpoints near Tucson. I had to stop at one and was asked if I was a US citizen. Said yes and was on my way.
Yes but the illegals know how to also say yes to that question. I've crossed those many times and never had to provide proof of any kind. All they do is ask you and if you say yes that you are a citizen then you go on your way.
Same thing on the buses that bring the illegals up to many points in the USA, they also stop at those checkpoints and an agent gets on the bus and tells the passengers that those who aren't USA citizens need to pull out their passports or visas. If you don't pull out anything, they don't look at it.

But once in awhile those checkpoints catch illegals. I know two guys who decided to head on over to California by bicycle on I-10 and no one warned them of the checkpoint past Las Cruces halfway to Deming. They got deported but were back in just a couple days.
How about this? We take all your possessions and throw you in jail. Think it would work?
They come here for money basically ... It follows that if the government takes everything they got, if they get caught, why would they come here and risk losing everything?
