I lived in NJ when this occurred. Bigger issue was why was someone who had prior arrests released on a plea deal in the first place, illegal or no.

This is absolutely a horrible crime, however, things like this happen every single day due to all kinds of lapses in our judicial system.

To blame it solely on illegal immigration is the height of naivete.

If those illegal immigrants weren't here, more than likely the victims would be living, breathing citizens.

I don't think anyone is doing that. We do have our own home grown criminals but why add illegal aliens to the mix? They shouldn't even be in this country and for every crime they commit that is one less we should have had to deal with.

Yes, but the difference is that citizens have a right to be in this country so their crimes can't be prevented. If illegals weren't in this country their crimes could have been prevented.

It appears the first guy was not an illegal but was in fact a permanent legal resident.

The real failure appears to have been that he was not hunted down after failing to appear on another violent criminal charge.

What bias and hate? Here we go again with the claim that we anti-illegals are bigoted and are haters. I am sick of it! Do you think what you just said to me was diplomatic?

Neither bias nor hatred. Cold, perhaps. Hard, perhaps. We have enough of our own homegrown criminals -- do we need to accept more?
