Right..every woman with 5-6 kids in tow is a private babysitting service.

Grasping at straws on this one, aren't you? Sure some or all of those kids could have been someone elses but are you saying that there aren't numerours cases where they are not but in fact belong to the pregnant mother pushing the stroller with several kids in tow? I saw this a lot in Orange County when I went down there. There were many of them. I guess they are all babysitting?

Same in Texas. Quite common to see 4-5 kids with a woman in the supermarkets. I guess babysitting is a big home based business with foreigners.
I see these large families and can't help thinking..how can they afford it these days.

I know the Hispanic culture (Mexico at least) is about having large families but it comes with a cost.
The average couple today has 1-2 kids. That's from the latest census..average family size is 3.24.

^This is what should happen, but Obama needs the votes in November 2012. So this is merely a pipedream.

Food stamps should be for citizens and their families with citizens being the adult, the parent, not some 1 day old infant that will now feed the rest of the family with benefits. That is total misuse of the system as it was originally set up.

Catholicism plays a big role in this. Mexicans in Mexico may be having fewer children unless one is talking about their peasant class. However, when they come here illegally knowing that our government will take care of their broods it is an incentive to keep having them. Birthright citizenship needs to change ASAP.

I'll say. If it was as it should be the headline would be:

Illegal Aliens cut off from taxpayer funds

More likely than not they were:

Interpreting the 14th Amendment
In Parkland Memorial Hospital Dallas, the second busiest maternity ward in the United States, 70% of the women giving birth were illegal aliens. That added up to 11,200 babies for which Medicaid kicked in 34.5 million dollars to deliver these babies, the feds another 9.5 million and Dallas taxpayers tossed in 31.3 million. The average illegal patient is 25 years and giving birth to her second anchor baby.

FAIR: Birthright Citizenship

Just think this article is from 2008. I'm sure the numbers have drastically increased over the years.

C'mon PurpleRain, these kids are U.S. citizens. We owe their mothers tax-funded benefits for their delivery and endless support, even if we can't afford it. The fact that their mothers are here illegally draining us dry is totally irrelevant.

This is something else that needs to be stopped. This this-is-my-religion-so-I-can-go-ahead-and-blast-babies-out-like-gumballs mentality.

You can adhere to your religion in Mexico..NOT HERE.

The same thing for those freaky Quiverfull pod-people (Duggars, are you listening ?).

As an aside..I just got back from getting my taxes done. I'm getting a mere 1000 (not much when you've been unemployed and have a lot of bills to catch up on..but thank God for the student credit). It was kind of funny, however when the tax preparer said to me in a sarcastic tone (while giving the hispanic families with umpteen kids in the room the hairy eyeball) that I would have gotten a lot more if I had kids. I was like "Yeh...I know..I don't count because I'm single"
