Under your scenario above all one needs is a valid DL. There is no need to present citizenship papers. I can't believe the number of people who think or claim that citizenship or naturalization papers would have to be presented while being stopped for a traffic violation. It simply isn't true.

Good one tinman01;

You just said it a mouthful. This Country is so easily abused by so many, who take this Country for granted.

And in taking this Country for granted, they make each and every one of us Natural born citizens look like fools.

First what does the law enforcement community think about this after all they are who will have to carry this out.

Second if you have ever worked for any government agency you know that cooperation between local and federal agencies is so competitive as to be virtually impossible in most cases. This is a fact because when i worked with the INS the local officials in many cases actively impeded the INS from doing its job.

The point, in case you missed it, is that it shouldn't happen. The cops have no right to just randomly interrogate people about their citizenship status in the U.S. Just because you would roll over it and take it up the @ss doesn't obligate others to do the same.

A cop can find some sort of excuse to stop ANYBODY. If the person stopped doesn't show ID; he can be hauled in. Are you willing to risk it IF you might have something to hide? I won't.

Also, cops are NOT randomly interrogating people about their citizenship status in the U.S. That is pure pro-illegal BS and propaganda. Only someone with something to hide or someone they want to protect from detection who is here illegally would make such an erroneous statement.
