Mexican Mafia target of San Diego arrests | diego, mexican, mafia - News - The Orange County Register
119 arrested in San Diego Ca.

With Mexico's drug trade, a porous border, Mexican Nationals and high Illegal immigration combined with entrenched Mexican American street gangs this is the gang issue that poses the greatest threat in S. California and other border states.

I don't buy it. The Mexican Mafia has always been here in some form, but i have never believed that they were nearly as powerful as folks make them out to be.

Not really as the Mexican Mafia is an American street gang that operates on both sides of the border.

It's members are for the most part American citizens and it's crimes are directed more so in the US.

It's firmly entrenched in the prisons, streets and drug trade in the US being supplied through it's network in Mexico.

With the uptick in drug violence, incresed scrutiny on the border there influence is felt in the border states, streets and prisons here. I do agree they are a lesser influence in the rest of the country.

You would wish that these scumbag cartel members had to sneak over the border, unfortunately a very large number are being handed visas and even refugee status.

Not 100% sure here; but the MM isn't that strong here in Arizona. Maybe because so many Americans here carry guns and they DON'T need permits to carry concealed here any more.
