A dying California dad who was denied a kidney transplant because of his undocumented immigration status has been given a second chance at life.
University of California-San Francisco has agreed to operate on Jesus Navarro, an illegal immigrant from Mexico.
Note the spin.
His illegal status was NOT the reason he was denied the transplant. He was denied the transplant because he will lose his insurance coverage in 18 months, and cannot afford the costly aftercare treatments.
Quote:
"UCSF was following its policy to make sure Mr. Navarro would continue to have the health insurance necessary to receive proper post-transplant follow up," the hospital said in a joint statement from UCSF's chief medical officer, Dr. Josh Adler, and Navarro today.
"Follow-up care is critical to transplant patients, who otherwise may lose the organ and become less healthy than they were on dialysis," the statement added.
However, after Change.org launched a campaign, he now qualifies.
Quote:
"UCSF regrets the misunderstanding and is committed to reviewing its processes to make sure that communication is consistent and clear with all patients, including Mr. Navarro. UCSF does not and will not discriminate on the basis of immigration status."
What's sick is that you have a problem with somebody getting a life-saving kidney transplant.
Remember: but for the grace of God go I.
Repeat to self.
That someone has broken half a dozen American laws and continues to do so openly and unrepentently. What's sick is that Mexicans don't provide kidney tranplants for their own poor people. Instead they expect Americans to do that. How is that fair?
He needs to go back to Mexico and stay there. And Mexicans need to fix up their own damned country and stop making unreasonable demands on us.

What's sick is that the open borders types don't really give a damn about the American citizens dying for lack of organs and transplants. Many American citizens ARE dying while the illegals are given preference and all the free health care they demand.
No, what really wants to make you puke is the fact that American citizens are dying while this a-hole gets to the front of the line.
That and you quoting a bunch of propaganda from Alcoholics Anonymous.
Repeat to yourself.
It never ceases to amaze me how illegal aliens always manage to get media access to hype up their sob stories.
On cue like a nation of puppets the media and government plays the race/guilt card on their behalf in order appease them in every way. While the insanity of all of this continues to lead America to its doom.

Yet thousands of Americans wait in line for organs and a chance to live in their own country. The moral of this story, for illegal aliens in America crime does pay.

UCSF is sticking it to american citizens. they already get more taxpayer funding for research than any other institution in the country. According to NIH data (http://report.nih.gov/award/trends/findorg.cfm), the top five recipients of its FY 2010 research funding were as follows (not including research contracts or ARRA grants):
Public institutions:
1.UCSF ($475.4 million)
UCSF is having funding issues and has to raise tuition, and that isn't even going to make a dent in their budget shortfall:
While raising tuition to address revenue shortfalls caused by continued cuts in the state’s funding of higher education aids UC campuses with larger undergraduate populations, “tuition increases barely make a dent in our fiscal plan,” Desmond-Hellmann told the Regents’ Committee on Educational Policy at UC Riverside (end)
taken from their own website.
punishing americans to take care of illegal immigrants-when it should be mexico stepping up to the plate to take care of their citizens-
not forcing american kids to pay more in tuition-or taking the next transplant away from an american.
why isn't the media calling MEXICO out?
