I think the mother is vile. She's the one who gave birth to this child with the sole purpose of exploiting him for his US birth certificate and chose to abandon him for all that time she spent in a detention center.
A loving parent would have opted for voluntary departure and would have taken the child home with her. This one chose to contest her deportation. The child apparently had only one parent and that parent preferred to have him in foster homes than be a parent. Now he has two parents and a stable home and she wants to rip him from it. All for her own selfish motives of using his citizenship to demand she be allowed to break the laws.

Exactly! I am so sick of these self-righteous people, riding in here on their high horses, defending illegals, no matter how despicable their behavior may be. Clearly, they're too morally bankrupt to comprehend right from wrong. You're absolutely right. This so-called mother and others like her are what is truly vile. Becoming a legal citizen SHOULD be a long and expensive process unless you have capital to invest or special talents. Anyone else who wants to move here forever should have to prove that at the very least they have basic English fluency, no criminal record, no serious medical conditions and at least a high school diploma. Americans are not morally responsible for providing a better life for foreign nationals.
I happen to think she should get her son back. Then she can take him and her criminal record and go back to Guatemala where she belongs. She has only herself to blame here. She knowingly violated our immigration and employment laws and failed to prepare herself for life in America by choosing not to learn English. I'm sick and tired of her and her cohorts who think they are fundamentally entitled to break multiple American laws and be rewarded for it with American citizenship.

Yes, illegal aliens are vile people, agreed. A responsible US citizen parent would never have his/her rights stripped, so there's no point in playing that tired old saw.
