On April 30, 2011, a man's choice to drive drunk took the lives of two GREAT MEN. Our husbands, Dan Gambardella and Ilario (Larry) Scuteri, were on their way to work when their car was struck and driven off the road by an illegal immigrant drunk driver. Sadly, our husbands died instantly. On that morning of April 30, 2011, our lives as we knew them were gone, changed forever in an instant. Along with our husbands, parts of us died that early morning too. Our lives have been altered forever. We are left to pick up the pieces and try to create a "new normal" for our children. A new normal our children never wanted.

Sort of like if Police didn't pursue criminals then there would be no high speed chases. Right?
They flee because they are criminals and they know it. They flee because they don't want to pay for damages. They flee because - wait for it - Because they don't respect the rights of others..... Yep just like all criminals.
Rewarding criminal behavior only invites more of the same.
If you catch a person shop lifting do you take them shopping and buy them whatever they want to teach them the errors of their ways? Hmmm maybe some people do that I don't know. I just know that I wouldn't.

That's why we NEED to catch any and all illegal aliens, then deport them from the US. ANY time a person has contact with the cops; check them out for being here legal or not.

They run because they don't give a damn about the victim.

Sure they might be scared that they could be returned home and miss out on some of the big easy American money they've grown to love, and certainly that beats any concern for a human life. The easy money and welfare handouts are much more important to them than leaving someone to die.

Hit and runs are common in the countries these people come from -- and they don't have that "scared" excuse there. They do hit and runs because it's got a lot to do with their cultural mentality. Check up on hit and run statistics in Mexico and Central American nations.

This is what irritates me. First LE gets accused of racial profiling if they dare stop a Latino and ask for I.D. and then if found to be here illegally unless they have been "convicted" of a serious crime they get to stay here. Excuse me, but don't our immigration laws warrant all illegals be deported when discovered?

Yes but not enforced at least in So Cal. Not politically correct to do so.

It just got worse. Chief Charlie Beck and the four members of the LA Police Commision that voted yes should be fired. Another reward for illegals that break the law, now less worry for them about getting their vehicles impounded. Called "an act of humanity and compassion toward the city's illegals." What rubbish, what about legal citizens that are killed, maimed, and property destroyed? Where is the compassion for them?

If they claim they need to drive to work why are they drunk? Who allows someone to work while drunk?
