So how does that automatically make it an illegal immigration issue? Only citizen Hispanics can vote and the topic was about voting.

Check this out, from now on, hispanics will be catered to, and if the republicans don't get into the game really soon, they will never again be in power........
You are really confused as to what this forum is for.

You're quite right. The OP made a hidden threat if Hispanics don't get their way meaning amnesty for illegal aliens; there will be trouble; that's what it reads like to me.

Yep, I read into that also. That is what Hispanic voters who want amnesty are threatening. Not that most would vote for a Republican anyway. It's all about amnesty and socialism to them. Why don't the Republicans just give it up and appeal to Americans for the rule of law instead?

Not that this thread has ANY relevance to illegal immigration, but exactly how will "Hispanics" be catered to? And, by Hispanics, are you referring to illegal Hispanics, citizen Hispanics, or both? Or, do you believe no distinction should or can be made? By "catering to" are you implying they will soon receive rights and privileges denied others? Will new laws be enacted exclusively for Hispanics? Please explain your point.

But, understand, you can't have it both ways. You can't whine about Hispanics being linked with illegals, and then post this thread in the ILLEGAL Immigration forum. In doing so, you imply that Hispanic and illegal alien are synonymous. So, the next time you or one of your cohorts argues that it is "racist" to assume a person is illegal simply because they're Hispanic, I'll be sure to link to this thread. Okay?

Not all on the Time Cover are Latino/Hispanic!

Quote:
It seems that one of the 20 featured, out of 151 who were photographed, isn’t even Latino. Ironically, the guy works in media. His name is Michael Schennum. He’s a photographer for the Arizona Republic newspaper and it was a surprise to him to be included on such a momentous cover — and on the top row!
Schennum, third from left, is half-Asian, half-white. According to him, he was never asked if he was Latino and had no idea what his picture would be used for.
Of course, TIME had a response:
“Over the course of three days we photographed 151 people for the current cover,” a Time spokeswoman told Yahoo News. “We took steps to ensure that everyone self-identified as Latino, that they are registered voters and that they would be willing to answer our questions. If there was a misunderstanding with one of our subjects, we apologize.”
TIME magazine errs on two fronts: thinking an Asian-American is Latino and that all Latinos have the same “look” - Latina Lista

F'ing hilarious! I would conclude that Time was basing their Latino on the color of ones skin, nothing racist about that at all!

Remember when Michelle Bachman (I think it was her) spoke in a class of mostly Hispanic students and she said some of you look Asian? Many Hispanics got all insulted over that. I'd like to know why since some Latinos do have Asian looking features because of their ancestors who migrated over here through the Bering Strait. What's wrong with having Asian features anyway unless one is racist against them.

In THAT case, I guess I'm also Latino. This is beyond hilarious.

As we all know, Hispanic/Latino is not a race. Anyone, including Caucasians, can be included in that group, which is why this entire "racism" angle is so ridiculous. It's amusing that the majority of so-called Hispanics self-identify as white when responding to the Census. Yet, opposition to illegal immigration is constantly promoted as being racist against "brown" people. Apparently they're only brown when it suits their agenda. Otherwise, they prefer to be classified as white. Or, maybe it's a form of dissociative identity disorder.
