ATLANTA (Reuters) - Illegal immigrants would be barred from attending Georgia public colleges and universities under a bill that passed the Georgia Senate on Monday with Republican support.

The bill which passed by a vote of 34 to 19, is the latest backlash against undocumented students by politicians arguing that they are a burden on taxpayer-funded education, even when they pay out-of-state rates.

I don't see the point in letting illegals occupy space in public universities when they can't work after graduation anyway.

If they are paying for it then they should take those degrees back to their own country and put them to good use. On the other hand they can wait for amnesty and then they are good to go.

With all this talk about illegals getting into college and the Dream Act, are there really that many of them seeking higher education?

In this state they get in-state tuition. It's outrageous. We should just deport them instead.

Yeah -- and contrary to the lies of the illegals, they have colleges in the home countries of the illegals.
