"...A group of Silicon Valley technology leaders, impatient with attempts to rewrite immigration laws, is funding efforts to help undocumented youths attend college, find jobs and stay in the country despite their illegal status..." Isn't that aiding and abetting? If justice serves, these companies will be wasting their money.

I find this quote a little troubling.
Quote:
The U.S. has "put a lot of money into [undocumented students] already," said Eva Grove, wife of Intel's co-founder, whose family foundation gave $1 million to immigration-related groups last year. "It makes no sense to dead-end them after they are educated."
The US Hasn't put anything into these kids, these kids and their parents took it from the US. ....

If these groups wish to fund scholarships for these kids, so be it, it's their money. If they can eventually get them a work visa legally, so much the better, but if you are going to advocate something like Mrs. Grove is doing at least be intellectually honest about it.

Wealthy people tend to look over their own countrymen to take care of everyone else. That's one of those things that makes them feel like they are saving the world and being internationally-chic while doing it. But anyway, it's always funny how people are more willing to put illegal immigrants above people who are legally here.

Also, a lot of these folks just don't get it. Do you think they've discovered the true costs of illegal immigration? Have they actually accepted the negative aspect of illegal immigration? If so, then it is obvious that they simply do not care about those who are not illegal. Charity for illegal immigrants should not hurt those who are here legally.

The impact upon tax payers and those of us here legally should NOT be determined by a bunch of innovative, industry-leading, wealthy people that have enough money to make people listen to what they have to say about illegal immigration. It goes back to what Jayarcy has to say: Aiding and abetting is what it is. If these donators are making it possible for illegal immigrants to stay here then it affects taxpayers. Why don't these billionaires just go ahead and adopt these students and become responsible for their financing?

If you read what people have to say in this thread, no one is complaining just about what they are doing with their money. The issues are with the accompanying comments and quotes found within the article. Many times there are inaccurate and unbelieveable statements by pro-illegal immigration folks in these articles. So, they aren't just giving their money, but they are also taking an opportunity to spew more fallacies about illegal immigration. Once again, the media gives them the opportunity.

I agree with both of your posts. If these rich people want to help someone why aren't they helping our own poor citizens instead of illegal aliens that don't even have a right to be in this country?

It's not just that they are wealthy, but both wealthy and tech-savvy. Mrs. (wife of an immigrant) Grove, Mrs. (widowed) Jobs, but I didn't see the name of Melinda Gates. Bill has talked on this issue before too.

Anne Brin (wife of Sergey) should also become involved, knowing their background...

If they really "cared" about these people they'd use that money to give them opportunities so they wouldn't be tempted to come here legally.

People in glass houses don't throw stones. How many hoaxes and lies have been pepetrated by so called "anti-illegals"? Just because you don't agree with what they have to say doesn't make their statements inaccurate or unbelievable.
