The polls disagree with you. I live in Calif. and I can tell you from every Hispanic I have ever discussed this topic with they want amnesty for their illegal compadres more than anything else. Maybe things are different in Miami because most Hispanics are of the Cuban persuasion rather than Mexican.

How stupid is that when a republican president granted over 12 million of them amnesty?

What Republican president was that? The only one I know of is Reagan and he granted 3 milion of them amnesty, not 12 million.

Interesting piece on Reagan's 1986 amnesty, which he admitted was a mistake. Once again, a President who couldn't see past the vote and his own popularity. Amnesty is a "free" gift from the government which comes at a huge cost to the US taxpayer. It seems that the taxpayer is the gift that keeps on giving.

There are various accounts of how many amnesties were expected with passage of the 1986 amnesty. Figures range from 300,000 (Gingrich, who voted for it) to about 2.1 million. Some reasonable estimates center around 1.2 million. The actual result was 2.7 million. Close to one third of the amnesties given were based on document fraud. Good article. Anyone who still wants amnesty again for at least another 12 million illegal aliens can't possibly have this nation's best interests at heart.

When Reagan was President, the illegal issue was not as serious. The country has changed. Every time they discuss giving amnesty to the illegals, the number coming in increases drastically. Think, giving away free food, free medical, etc. with no strings attached. It is not the Democrats or the Republicans but the wealthy that count on this illegal population to keep their costs down. It is about "illegal" and the high costs to a people that are already overwhelmed having to carry them, the U S taxpayers. Man the borders as this is a war against the majority of Americans.

With all this talk about Romney lowering/raising taxes, if people understood what the cost of amnesty would be under Obama, they would understand that Obama would have to raise taxes to find the money to fund amnesty.

So amnesty under Obama would require government to increase taxes, as opposed to Romney opposing amnesty, stopping the influx of illegals and deporting illegals, and raising taxes. Under Obama or Romney there will be an increase in taxes, but I doubt the tax increase under Romney would be much higher than the increase taxpayers would see under Obama. Of course, if Obama proposes a tax increase he isn't going to tell the public where that tax money would be spent, other than "for the good of the country". Ideally, Romney's tax increase to the 99% wouldn't be used to fund amnesty for illegals, but could be used in an effort to stop the problems America has with illegals. Spending tax money on the War Against Illegals is money well spent.

What's up with that? Is it because he sees "hispanics" and is thinking about the coming election and is trying to win their votes by promising them amnesty, completely oblivious to the fact that he's in Latin America where these people aren't living illegally?

Whoaaaaaaaaaa, not a whole lot of luv there, between the secret service agaents and prositutes!

Obama is only doing this to try and lock in more votes.
