There have been a number of vehicle crashes with 12, 17 people crammed into SUV's or vans -- and you know that hundreds are coming over without crashing.

I say it's just political posturing also -- why would illegals not be coming to take up Obama's big offer of amnesty and of course the dream act he's also promising them?

When Popo's lava starts flowing, you can expect pretty much all the people from that region over here in just hours.
Ignorance is an ugly color on you. Popo's lava?? Really?? You're really just looking for any excuse to believe whatever you've already decided to believe, no?

But yes, the truth is that Mexico's birthrate has declined substantially, and it is likely that the population will peak in the next 20 or so years, then begin to fall. The "boom" of Mexican migrants has likely peaked and will not return to the heyday of the early part of this decade.

They aren't giving birth in Mexico because they come to the USA to give birth. They can't give birth in two places at the same time after all. People who can afford their children because they limit family size to what they can afford aren't the ones who are "having" to come here illegally. The USA is the destination for those who cannot afford the kids they're having.

Illegal immigrants represent 8 percent of U.S. births | Deseret News

The remittances to Mexico were at an all time high in 2011, a 7% increase. And already in 2012, the remittances are up 8.6%.

To late...millions reside in your nation who are illegals..I do not agree with illegal immigration...apparently your leadership believe illegal is legal....so in a sense they are all legal..maybe not formally through law...But when law makers do nothing...the message to all is that it is legal through ommisson.

Over 400,000 were deported last year alone (a record number). That would be one of the factors listed in the periodical.

What are lawmakers supposed to do exactly...make it more illegal to enter/stay here without a visa?
This is the job of the executive branch, and they appear to be doing everything they can right now (with record successes).

They also called off deportations of anyone but the worst kind of violent criminals -- a kind of amnesty in itself. They have been told it's okay to come here illegally, have children at taxpayer expense and commit felony document fraud and as long as they don't murder or rape someone they're allowed to break all the other laws.

I guess our own country won't protect its people.
But we protect other borders.

Saying it is less is hardly good news. Does it cheer a patient up if we tell them they are bleeding to death slightly slower?
