There is absolutely no evidence that illegal crossings have slowed. None whatsoever.

Residents On Mexican Border Upset Over Border Patrol Strategy - News Story - KVIA El Paso

Homeowners along the El Paso County, Hudspeth County line feel like they're in the Wild West as it is.

Locals claim Barrio Azteca cartel members have been among those who've crossed, and been captured. George Brenzovich, who lives near the border as well, said he's certain there are plenty more illegal immigrants who have not been caught.

Some, still relatively few, people seem to be reacting to a change in stragegy which will take some time to implement and the full details they and we are unaware of. It's foolish for the government not to change how it responds to these threats to meet changing circumstances and conditions. The Border Patrol today is double the size it was prior to 9/11, as far as manpower is concerned. Technological advances will also allow the Border Patrol to better utilize its strengths. So, it's way, way too early to be criticizing. I sympathize, though, with residents on the USA side of the border who face these challenges on a daily basis.

These statistics saying illegal immigration has shifted and that more are leaving than entering is a load of bs. There are tons of illegals still crossing but not to the number of years past.

Of course not, because they have already sucked the US dry. Why stick around for the free meal ticket when there isn't enough to go around for US citizens, much less those who exploit us.

If so many illegals are taking jobs away from Americans, and i do know some who personally are. Then just one illegal being here, is one too many. If our Govenment makes things soft on them, and does not seem to truly care about this problem, who really is our problem.
This problem won't go away, unless we put a stop to it.

Most of what you're saying (above) ... I agree with.

The point is ... many, thousands upon thousands, tens of thousands, are still entering the country.

What really gets my nerve is what these poor towns and ranchers along the border have to deal with on a daily basis. And the fact they have to be worried to defend themselves and their property, for fear of getting sued by some random illegals.
