[quote=7h3.6h057;1551123]which was when again?

I am sorry but they were notat these numbers 100 years ago,[/qutoe] neither was the legal population. i live in south san diego. im 10 minutes away from tijuana. dont even use the border town argument with me. are you a full-blooded native american? if not, you're "illegal". so what responsibility do we have for nafta and even cafta? our government has used corrupt foreign politicians to further rape the working class beyond the borders of the united states. what do you plan to do about that? your elected representatives legislated a drain on their systems. do you even agree with nafta? then mentioning their "illegal" status is irrelevant in the argument. yeah, its not compassion, its weakness. "give us your poor, your tired...", unless they're mexican? i'll ask you: how do you know that we would? i can only make an educated guess, seeing as how the scenario hasnt manifested itself. but an absence of ANY sort of workers in that number would be disastrous.
why do they need to assimilate? america is supposed to be a melting pot of cultures. our citizens dont follow ALL our laws. a lot of our citizens rely on free benefits (welfare, disability, social security). but i do agree they need to be paid a livable wage. it could be accomplished by eliminating excessive government spending, inline with ron paul's position.

well said man. I agree.

I think this is one of the problems with deporting known gang members. They seem to come back. We might be better off if we charged them with crimes and locked them up rather than deporting them.

Agreed but then if we did that, non-citizens would be draining our tax dollars. Solutions are never easy.

I think, in the case of MS-13, it's been proven that they come back to the USA as soon as they can -- and they don't cross illegally at the border. They get on planes and fly back. (Some TV show had a program about this.) Anyway, I think the only way to get them off the street is to put them in prison and keep them there. Yeah, it costs money but it costs the other way too.

I have to correct my statement, the news reported a couple days ago this is the 3rd officer to be killed by an illegal alien in Arizona. They reviewed past murders of officers and determined there were actually 3, not just this one.

Gang members like gangs....bring back 'the chain gang'. Let them do jobs americans won't do in Fargo in the winter, and scenic Bullhead city in the summer.

I think what people are saying is if our government did there job this illegal would not have been here to shoot this officer, yes it could have been any -one that shot him but we should not have to worry about people that are not allowed in our country.
