Thank God Obama finally found some damn SPINE and smashed the Republican anti immigrants in the face! He should have done this 3 years ago and I know he is doing it only so he can win Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico BUT at least he is doing the RIGHT thing for a change. The Congress needs to pass AMNESTY now and if they won't, Obama should go around them and use his executive powers to implement hope and change.
How does he figure to win in these states? I'm actually for the law and I'm a frequent critic of the anti-immigration retards who post on the internet, but I think that whatever he gains from this move will be offset by the perception that he's more concerned with the rights of gays and illegals than he is about the average Joe Six Pack sitting at home wondering what happened to the country he grew up in. Obama's refusal to play politics was a great campaign slogan, but christ this president is naive at times. He's not going to win an election by being the black version of Jimmy Carter.
For all practical purposes this means that 800,000 more American citizens just became unemployed because of the actions of this would be Fuehrer. Congress may stop this act of a egomaniac, already there has been a huge backlash and major opposition. There could be a bright side to all this; while Obama may pick up a few more Hispanic votes, he may lose far more votes from non Hispanic whites that were only lukewarm supporters or were undecided, this latest act may push them into the Romney camp. See this as a huge political blunder on the part of Obama, he is such an ideologue that he neither perceives or cares about the wishes of the citizens.
That's a ridiculous statement. Chances are, they were already employed and doing work that other Americans weren't already doing and probably weren't even interested in doing.
Separate but equal. You personal opinion means nothing in this argument. Especially since a portion of the country feel the same about the ignorant moron in the WH.
You've got one thing right - historic for sure. No other president has acted so dictator-like, in an obvious attempt to sway voters. Desperation knows no bounds with this man, apparently.
George W. Bush signed more executive orders in 2001 than Clinton and his own father -- combined. That's 12 years of office, dwarfed by one.
This has nothing to do with law and everything to do with buraucratic rules enacted for political expediency.
And everything to do with further upsetting the "balance of power" that Congress and the President should be sharing, according to the Constitution. Liberals won't like it when a Republican president does the same thing to get his own way.
Excellent move. We've got a Congress broken severely by ignorant, small-minded GOP bigots. Another historic move by this great President.
Bigots? How is it bigoted to want our immigration laws enforced?
