With more confirmed cases of chagas now showing in the US will this become a real modern day epidemic? We now know how it is transmitted and it's a fact that not all blood banks are screening for it. Before 2007 hardly any did and with the nature of the disease taking so long to develop we may not really know the consequences of our open border for another 20 years.
While it is not a new AIDS type epidemic 300, 000 confirmed cases is not something that can be ignored.

Chagas is scary. We never had that disease in the USA before.

What a mess our immigration system is. All they need to do is enforce the law.

I don't doubt that there are diseases we have yet to hear of that are being brought in that they are not being checked for because the CDC is not yet aware of them.

Chagas? Is that an intestinal disorder one gets from too much cha cha dancing? I think I got that once in the 60's.
