Face it illegals take the jobs we don't want. Our economy relies on their efforts and if employers had to paya fair wage for the nasty jobs the people would be paying double the price for those services. It is all about what someone is willing to do for the right price.

When was the last time you chose the most expensive quote you got? Americans are spoiled and lazy. We want to make a lot and work little for it. Then complain when things don't go our way... Here is a simple lesson in economics. as the wage falls the supply of people willing to do the work also falls. When you have a group willing to do it for less they will beat us out. They work hard and earn everything they get. We just can't compete Want to get their jobs. be willing to make $6/ hr picking oranges, , or what other nasty job they took
Sums it up.

You have people complaining about China and illegals when they are shopping at Wal-Mart and eating at Mcdonalds.

Then they want to take away Medicare and Social Security for U.S. citizens who need those programs for healthcare and income.
Unemployment benefits are only for U.S citizens but many Repubs want those Americans drug tested first.

There is 0 government protection for the AMERICAN middle class in any republican policy.
Republicans fought harder against government programs for Americans than they do against government programs for illegals.
And you don`t know what you`re talking about. Go back and real slowly read my post. Just don `t see what you want to see. Acutally read it and try to have an open mind and think about it. Let me help you. When did I say the economy started to decline? Under who`s watch did I say it started to decline? Is bush a republican or democrat?Ok. Now let`s move on to the next point.

Has the economy gotten better or worse in the last 4 years? Has unemploymnet gone up or down in the last 4 years? Has our national debt skyrocketed or gone down? Which party would you say is seen as softer on illigal immigration? Who would you say the illegals would be more prone to vote for? why?

As far as medicare and social security, you have your head stuck in the sand. It would be like if you lived a particular lifestyle that was costing you 10x as much than your income could allow. So you keep on spending and driving your family deeper into debt. Everyone keeps telling you that you need to change course ( or in the case of ss/medicare, a new revised plan), but you won`t listen. You defend your spending and the reason you drive your family into debt by saying noone wants you to have anything.... Noone cares about you. So you keep spending, but when you die, your kids are settled with enormous debt because you refused to change. You lived your lifestyle but now your kids are stuck paying the price for it.

That is what entitlements are doing to this country. Yes, it would be great if we could all just live off of the government. Then we would all be fat dumb and happy. But that isn`t the way the real world works. The government isn`t 10 guys sitting in an office with trillions of dollars to hand out to whoever comes along and says they need it. There is only so much money to be spent. You cannot spend more than you have. It weakens us in every way and we become slaves to whoever owns our debt.

You might say that the rich aren`t paying their FAIR share. But the top 20% of people pay the overwhelmingy majority of the taxes and the bottom 50% who pay NOTHING, live off of those benefits. You could take all of the money that the millionaires and billionaires in this country have ( not just a bigger share, but ALL of it) and it still wouldn`t make a dent in the national debt.

The problem is, people like you think money grows on trees and the government`s job is to forcibly take it and spend it however they see fit. The point is, there is not enough money to keep funding these programs as they currently are. So you either come up with a new revised plan or you sit there and think everything is great and one party just wants to take everything away from the bottom 50%. Meanwhile, in20 years you won`t have social security or medicare because they will have long since been bankrupt.Andthose poor people you are crying about now won`t have squat because you were too busy pointing fingers anddidn`t see the train coming down the track that ran over everybody.

So get your head out of the sand. Things have to change. THERE ISN`T ENOUGH MONEY to support everyone who doesn`t work.

We're not here to debate the morals of the illegals - the point is that they are here illegally, but our leaders are willing to ignore the law because it allows for more cheap labor. That alone is disgusting, but it is even more appalling to flood the market with cheap, illegal labor in an economy Depression.

If we're going to say "it's okay, because they are hard workers and decent people," does that mean any hard working, decent person can ignore the law? "Sorry office, but I don't have to follow the speed limit since I'm a hard worker and better than gang members..." That doesn't make any sense.

2) We can discuss how "immigrants built this nation" all we want, but those immigrants integrated into society - most illegals do not, and some actively campaign to basically turn the US into Mexico North. Similary, the companies that hire them do so under the table to pay lower wages and discourage integration. This story is probably not going to have a "happy ending," unlike the classic Ellis Island tales from generations ago.

3) Saying they are "taking jobs Americans won't do" is dishonest. They are taking jobs American's CAN'T AFFORD to do, because the wages are so low the only way to survive on them is to be paid under the table and avoid income taxes. If the companies paid a living wage to pick fruit or whatever, our desperately poor citizens would be able to take those jobs and at least survive. Also, if anyone thinks this is just about fruit-picking, you're missing the point. Not only have illegals taken over the construction industry, which once used to be a decent way to make a living, but it is safe to say that the long-term is goal is to replace even more American jobs with illegals as time goes by. It's all about cheap labor, and nothing is cheaper than under the table slave-labor!
When Americans took these jobs picking fruit then you'd start complaining about the cost of food.

How many of you on here complaining get your food from local farms and ethical companies that treat animals and workers well? If people cared about more than price there wouldn't be much of a problem.

You're going to lecture us on ethics? Hahahaha! Do you have anything else to do other than defend every action taken against American workers?

And for the record, I avoid fast food, try to support local businesses, and don't purchase mountains of junk made overseas.

Do you really think people would complain about the price of food going up? Food is super cheap in the US and we have an abundance of it. I don't think many would care.

Good for you. Most buy the cheapest possible with little thought.

And besides that, there's an equilibrium to be met as well, which is why the silly "prices to consumers will double" crap is just that, crap. You reach a point where if you raise prices too high, your customrs will stop buying your product/service then you go out of business.

Business owners will just have to eat up some of the costs (like they did in the 1950s-1970s, before executive wages became over-inflated as well), like many grocery stores so far have been eating up the price increases in commodities.

If people didn't care about price you'd have a much larger natural and organic food market share as those are the places that often treat workers well. That and local products.

Americans have voted with their wallet for fast/cheap food and products.

20 million illegals here. they say just to take the jobs that we wont. but at the electricians shack at SDGE spanish only is spoken. yes they come 1st and take low pay jobs but they are hard working and move on up. lazy vs hard working competition is not a good match. maybe DC can clean up its act but we need to as well.
