You now what republicans, you had control of the house, senate and oval office between 2002-2006. You didnt get rid of welfare and you didnt take care of the illegals, at this point, you lose the right to complain about it now. You accomplished the trifecta, and yet we still have entitlements. You can thank Bush for that.

I don't have evidence but I'm pretty sure every major homebuilder in Texas hires illegals. It is a culture of looking the other way and "I won't tell if you won't tell." And again companies that hire illegals "on the books" can be prosecuted, no?

Sure all low income people pay "less than their fair share." Low income people do not have much say in the design of the tax system so why are you blaming them? Are you also incensed that low income folks are disproportionately affected by alcohol and cigarette taxes or is that somehow "fair?" It's like blaming foreign nationals for the U.S. having birthright citizenship when they weren't the ones who wrote it. No one ever said life or taxes was fair but the bigger question is are you going to pick your own strawberries, grapes, avocados, grapefruit, watermelon, oranges, apples, pears, lettuce, tomatoes, etc.?

Because several "free riders" are Americans too... they just happen to be too poor to pay for the ride... a ride which many times involves getting one´s life saved in a hospital for a gunshot wound or car accident. If you protest against these... take a humanities course.

Well how do you think the Pelosi family made their big millions? They were the same big rich growers who took down Cesar Chavez's movement by bringing in many illegals to work for the lowest wages imaginable in this country. Of course Pelosi is all in favor of unlimited dirt cheap labor -- she benefitted enormously from that.

The people who keep making the assertion have yet to show any proof that illegals vote in meaningful numbers, let alone constitute a "base"
In fact, there is no logical scenario wherein an illegal would risk prosecution and deportation by committing voting fraud. Something tells me their priorities are elsewhere.

They don't have to pay income taxes in Mexico or whatever other country they are from? Regardless, they know they are in this country illegally and don't have the right to work here. How about that little fact that they do know about?

Yes, there are Americans that are income tax evaders also and they are guilty also. Does that excuse illegal aliens somehow?

Little known fact is that the repubs in Texas like illegals. Who would build their McMansions if not for them? College students in 105 degree weather?.....on weekends?
You actually think that only Republicans use cheap, illegal labor? Nancy Pelosi the Democrat comes to mind working her vineyards. Americans have always done contruction work until the arrival of illegal aliens that cut their wages in half and they got driven out of the construction industry.

For the third time by law the guilt is on both the employer and the illegal employee for not paying the applicable taxes on paid or earned wages.

Perhaps because longer multi-syllabic words don't strike terror in our hearts and we find little use for words that lack definitional clarity or accuracy. You seen an Illegal alien can be "free riders" or hard working tax paying illegal residents. A welfare recipient can be an individual whose has worked and paid taxes and who have suddenly finds themselves on the "dole", or they can be an individual who are as lazy and shiftless as they come. Lumping all illegals and all welfare recipients into some one size fits all description is just plain ignorant. You see the problem is that Democrats and liberals are capable of complex thoughts and analysis, so having to dumb every thing down to satiate the simple minded, just isn't our cup of tea (bag).
And the group of hard working illegal aliens that you are referring to are not authorized to be in this country much less working a job they aren't entitled to and could have been held by an American or legal immigrant. So your point is? How many of them do you think have health insurance? Who do you think pays for the birthing of their kids born here? Illegal aliens are able to access welfare for their U.S. born kids. They wouldn't be able to do any of the above if they hadn't broken our immigration laws in the first place!

We are stuck with our own citizens whether they be lazy, welfare recipients or not. We sure don't need to add illegal aliens to the mix. Oh yeah, Obama and the Dems are real capable of complex thoughts and analysis. That's why they are promising these illegal aliens amnesty while millions of Americans are out of work. Just how dumbed down is that?

Oh lordy not the ole crop picking argument again. Only 3% of illegal aliens are picking crops. The other 97% are doing jobs that Americans have always done. Even for crop picking there are unlimited H-2A visas for legal, foreign crop pickers.

No, the blame is on the illegals by entering our country illegally in the first place. Everything else that happens afterwards is a big fat negative. Why do you keep ignoring and playing down their initial unlawful act of coming here illegally like it is irrelevant or something?
